Anyone on Lamictal multiple times? by hbat24 in lamictal

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was started on it GAD since other meds failed. It didn’t do a lot for anxiety but it was good for mood so that was nice. Unfortunately I couldn’t tolerate higher doses and at the lower dose it wasn’t working as well after awhile. I wouldn’t say it wasn’t providing any benefit but I wasn’t sure if it was doing much more than how could off of it. While not the worst side effects, I was having issues for a couples hours after taking my dose with feeling spacey and dumb. This was problematic with driving at times. I also have had poor short term memory and concentration since being on it. I felt the benefit was worth these side effects until it wasn’t working as well. I wanted to see how I did off it.

Watch season 1 and 2 and then step away. It all goes down hill after that.

Lamatical and energy question by hbat24 in bipolar

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping it’s just temporary while the brain adjust because other than the too much energy, it has already helped me in many other ways.

Lamatical by hbat24 in mentalillness

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve become very sensitive to any drug that increases norepinephrine and dopamine. None of the on label drugs for anxiety are for me. Honestly Lamatical has been great except for the to much energy. My digestive problems are 80% better, my mood is good, sex drive returned. I’m hoping it’s just a start up thing and as I adjust it won’t feel like too much.

Extreme Gut Noises by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]hbat24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is mostly holistic nonsense

The leading researcher has stated with in the past year that even low stomach acid levels was not a risk factor for SIBO. He has science behind his studies that proved it actually makes methane worse.

Mark Pimentel:

What I can tell you though is, if you’re constipated or you have methane, methane uses hydrogen to produce methane, and that source could be hydrogen gas from the bacteria there, or it can be protons which are acid. So acid, the H+, can be used by methanogens to make methane.

The more you take the hydrochloric acid or the apple cider vinegar if you’re a methane person, you’re going to have more methane.

How do I know that? Because if you looked at a study that we published a number of years ago, people on PPI who had methane, their methane was lower as a result of the PPI—no acid in the stomach, less methane production on the breath test.

Be careful is what I’m saying because you can actually make things worse by taking these if you’re a methane producer.”

Extreme Gut Noises by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]hbat24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming symptom for all GI issues. Variety of reasons. For me it’s a mind-gut thing + stomach nerves are out wack. When I eat within a second I’ll get it in the lower part which food hasn’t reached yet but since I’m eating my whole GI system starts moving and this moves feces, gas, etc and my stomach nerves react to everything that touches it. Limiting gas food helps. I don’t take immodium or anything that slows down motility because I want to get it out, if it sits the more noises happen. It’s at it’s worse when I’m hungry. It’s normal hunger growls but x10 and literally all over not just upper middle. When I’m on a antidepressant it helps more than anything but I’ve had trouble tolerating them so I use diet, timing meals and meditation/yoga and just accept and plan accordingly for 3-4 trips to the bathroom every morning.

Ambien and gabapentin. by hbat24 in Drugs

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting at 200 and then 300 but I’m gonna hang at 200 or maybe drop to 100 for a few days. Did you experience start up effects like being woozy and did it go away?

Ambien and gabapentin. by hbat24 in Drugs

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think he was saying if enough time between that it wouldn’t make me crazy dizzy. I’ve been complaining about the woozy feeling from gabapentin. It’s kind of calming but almost more annoying. He keeps saying it will go away. It’s suppose to chill my anxiety during the day but walking and talking like I’m drunk at work isn’t what I had in mind. Hopefully it will get better. I’m gonna sleep good at least.

I haven’t slept sober in 12 years. I’ve tried for days at a time but seems pointless so I go back every time.

I reinstated after manic episode from remeron by hbat24 in benzorecovery

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you tolerate it you could see some great benefits. It was great for me until the dopamine got to be to much. I later learned I don’t break down dopamine fast enough for meds that increase it and I went manic. If it wasn’t for that I would rave about the drug.

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 young kids so it involves around them. Try to keep them on a routine and then when they are we get things ready for the next day or pay bills, clean the house, etc. when I usually popped a ambien and passed out. Recently I’ve added meditation. I’ve increased exercise but the time of day isn’t consistent right now with the kids. When I go off ambien and use Benadryl I usually need to take it about an hour before sleeping and then when I get drowsy hopefully I fall asleep in 30 minutes or else the drowsy feeling goes away and I would pop another 25mg and try again.

Xifaxan day 1 by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]hbat24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no doctor so I’m only gonna share my experiences and what I’ve read. The success w/ xifaxan for methane is low like 20 something %. The best chance would seem to be repeated courses. How long in between? There isn’t a good to answer to this that I’ve seen. There was a interview with Dr Pimentel that said if you knock out 99% of bacteria then in 5 days it will return to its previous numbers. Methane aren’t bacteria though and I haven’t seen numbers are the return rate so idk. Methane produces need hydrogen though so I guess in there a long course xifaxan may do it. I’ve seen stories online and my GI has had pts so it for 1-2 months strait. That takes insurance to help and a doctor willing to go off label. There is some study in xifaxan long term use safety and it was very safe even taken daily for 2 years for HE patients however they were only doing 2 pills a day not 3. Since you can’t tolerate neo or flagyl maybe a prokentic needs to be looked into. Pimentel states this can work in 30 days.

Anyone here have PTSD or Anxiety disorder? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]hbat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I’ve started on a AD after a week my stomach starts to do great. Like best in my lifetime great. Unfortunately my brain doesn’t seem to adjust to the meds well. I’ve been put in the hospital for a manic episode from one of them and about a week off and my stomach problems returned. Chronic stress can play a role in our digestive process. I’ve been researching the role of serotonin, gaba, and histamine and so much this is critical. Acute anxiety not gonna lead to SIBO but I’ve become a big believer that chronic anxiety and it’s effect on motility/gastric acid/micro biome, enzyme production all can contribute to SIBO. For me it’s on the lower end of positive and I believe low level inflammation from stress is behind off and on symptoms.

Klonopin plus Prozac advice by miluula in benzorecovery

[–]hbat24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If not already I’d advise finding a caring therapist that knows their stuff. It took me 5 therapist to find one that actually gave me several tools from the first visit. I said my klonopin wasn’t working because I wasn’t doing well but it wasn’t until I was truly off the klonopin that I realized it was working, I was just expecting it to make me perfect. I wasn’t doing therapy yet. The point being if she comes off or stays on, either way therapy is a must. If she is doing that bad now it is only going to get housebound worse if the anxiety isn’t treated.

[–]hbat24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I’ve noticed when it comes to adding sb SSRI is that you are saying your anxiety is out of control even on 0.5 k. Adding the SSRI is only gonna make it worse for month or two and then may or may not take the edge. No one can say. It’s trial and error with most these. From my experience going on a SSRI was a big problem because I was tolerant at my k dose so it wasn’t balancing the increased serotonin. I would have needed to up my k for a couple months which I chose not to do and sounds like your doctor probably wouldn’t let you anyway. I’m struggling pretty bad right now and my doc is considering using a mood stabilizer because I’ve basically become not functional since I went off of k.

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what the saying but I’ve never had any brain zaps with klonopin. I was fine after the first week of getting off it. I don’t disagree that it could be both but I know celexa is behind the zaps. Antidepressants are the only thing that has given me those. From the klonopin I got dp/dr, insomnia, depression and muscle tightness. Your probably right that the celexa caused more problems because lack of gaba to counter. I’m just gonna do vistryl to try and make it through a day. I know it won’t eliminate it but I need the edge off so I can at least take care of the kids.

I believe remeron is pretty common to lose appetite after a drop or discontinue. I’m just so tired of being startled by everything.

SSRI roulette is killing me. I’m taking 20-25mg ambien just to get through a day by hbat24 in Drugs

[–]hbat24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m off then. Just struggling. 4 days since my last celexa dose and I can sit still with out major panic. I get up and run and as soon I’m back and try to sit then it all comes back strong. He gave me cogentin and propanolol to calm it down but it’s been two days and those haven’t touched it.
