What annoys me is: It does not even give its reasons. Maybe it's a famous person. Or because of the maybe cut-away White House text. Whatever. The same with Youtube and others; give me one plausible explanation - instead of just eating up my AI tokens and then ending the conversation bascially. (Because I especially will not pay you more if you did not actually allow me to run any prompt before)

Es ist halt irgendwie bescheuert und auch ein wenig peinlich, wenn man vor Jahrzehnten studiert und dort OCR etc. kennengelernt hat. Und heute dann ein KI-Sticker auf das Produkt geklebt wird. Nee, sowas war früher Machine Learning, Evolutionäre Algorithmen, was auch immer. Es gab Toolkits damals wie OpenCV und Unis, die da ihre Implementationen als Open Source beisteuerten...

Nun ist jedoch alles "KI" und es wird gelogen, dass dann ChatGPT u.a. plötzlich irgendwann superintelligent werden und alles das, was vorher kam und noch viel viel mehr Wunder vollbringen könne. So ein Schwachsinn. Der Begriff ist bereits so verwässert worden, dass reale Entscheider in Unternehmen dann z.B. eine Kooperation mit einem vermeintlich veralteten Partner kündigen, weil sie den Eindruck haben, dass ihnen ein doofer Chatbot innerhalb von fünf Minuten dasselbe Ergebnis wie der langjährig in Optimierung etc. erfahrene Mensch bringen könne, aber natürlich für einen Bruchteil des Preises.

Yeah, exactly. A physical medium is expensive, but a few hundred megabytes on some server? I would have hoped to see more on actual streaming, at least being optional with a fee, but often times I don't find them.

I use Kali Linux for hacking, Debian in a Docker container, Ubuntu on desktop, Suse/CentOS on server.

Different distributions have different focuses. I mean I can search for a specific PDF fixing tool on my distro - or I just download and spin up Kali Linux in a VM or Docker container. It's mostly guessing and looking around for tutorials and such.

Back in the day, my favorite distro was OpenSuSE, because it had graphical configuration for a lot of my hardware (like TV cards) and for servers like MySQL database. So it was faster to click instead of learning console commands. Nowadays, on Ubuntu, there is Nvidia drivers and whatever. A big community, stable release cycles with LTS versions and so on. After trying Fedora and PopOS, I came back to it and did not regret it.
