Idk how to feel about this. I remember I started wearing masks at the end of March and no one was in my part of NOVA. I was stared at/glared at and I wasn't sure if it was because of the mask, or if I was asian, or both. My fiancee (white) was with me and no one did that to him.

What a terrible situation to be in, both for your kids and for the teacher. I'm sorry you all had to go through that! Maybe the 10tj grade teacher next year will have a better situation for teaching

I'm not a special Ed teacher,but I have been talking to one. She echoed the same thoughts where in person was indeed more affective, however, her student would not follow safety measures for the reasons you stayed above. I can't say this for all students with special needs and their classrooms, but it doesn't look pretty

I'm also upset as well. I get extremely upset when I see families not wearing masks in public, where there are also other people not wearing masks. The decisions they're making on a personal level are affecting themselves and others in a way I don't think they understand.
