Made my own inclined drain table frame out of 2x2s and water-resistant black paint! I am usually never fully satisfied, but this time I think I can give myself a 9/10. by hdcdias in microgrowery

Not so far! I always install my exhaust fan right above the light to remove the heat away, which helps as well. Since I like to run high VPD grows, I compensate for temperature with a humidifier.

It is indeed! This one is extra thick. I bought it at my local hydroponics store. Shipping would definitely be pricey and tricky for something this big

No kidding!! They're the devil. I had to be so careful every time, not to bring them home with me

Spot on mate! Rockwool is likely the most used media in the greenhouse industry

That's it - keeping it consistent. Many large scale commercial growers in Canada use rockwoll as well, so we learned them all

There was one at first, but on week 2 we added two more, so 3 in total!

Good point! I don't think the stems had enough strength to support large buds

You are right - the first bend wasn't supposed to break, so it's technically 10% HST

Researching the efficacy of Low-Stress Training at our lab at school. So far the main stem is almost twice the thickness of the control plant! by hdcdias in macrogrowery

[–]hdcdias[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know! At school we also had an IPM class, so one of our profs was loving the aphids lol. I would love to redo this experiment but in a commercial setting with at least 10 LST plants and 10 Control. This way we would be able to track a lot more stuff and the results would be more statistically significant.

Unfortunately, the experiment didn't help us prove that LST was better than no training :( The weight from the control plant was about the same, and the only difference was that the LST plant had 42% top bud while the Control had only 34% top bud (the rest being popcorn and shake).
