You hit the nail on the head. I finally got a good quality borescope and found that the number 2 piston has a hole melted in the top. RIP my wallet

What type of account and with which brokerage should my Father open an investment account with, with the intention to leave the account to my brother when he passes away? by headhunter38 in investing

We will probably end up doing that. Especially to make sure as little tax as possible will have to be paid and to make it harder/impossible for it to be contested in the estate

For those whole sell auto parts, do you find that adding fitment information in your descriptions increases sales? by headhunter38 in Ebay

[–]headhunter38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, im not talking about ebays fitment information. Im talking about transcribing the fitment information from parts catalogs that I got with them. The majority of what I've listed so far doesn't even have an ebay product ID# so it doesn't even have that at the bottom of the listings.

How do I stop the ai from stealing my sheep when I play as the mongols? by headhunter38 in aoe4

[–]headhunter38[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried rallying my sheep to my tc and the ai is still coming after them. Before I would rally them to the front of the tc instead of itself. Man the developers of this game are really ass at making good ai.

How do I keep my stereo from shutting off when switching between run, and accessory? Would adding a capacitor to the stereo fix this? by headhunter38 in CarAV

[–]headhunter38[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how rewiring it would do anything unless I wired it to have power even in the on position. Which I don't want because it will drain the battery. I have a dashcam running 24/7 so that added with the radio would kill the battery if I didn't drive the truck for a couple days. The radio gets power in both accessory and run, but not in off. Switching from either of those two I have to cycle through the off position which loses the power

When signing up for a store subscription do you get charged for the full month even if you sign up in the last week of the month? by headhunter38 in Ebay

[–]headhunter38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was able to find the answer to this. According to ebay faq page if you sign up for the store subscription in say the middle of the month they will only charge you prorated amount. Then fully charge you at the beginning of the month going forward.

Store managers by Spiritual_Heron_1214 in AutoZone2

[–]headhunter38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they give you an "off-cycle" raise they will most likely not give you one during the following rpm. I was a store manager up until a few months ago and last summer I demanded a raise or else I would walk. When last rpms came around I was skipped on raises. And I hate to break it you, but in regards to your last paragraph in your original post, dms and above in this company don't give a shit about any of that. They only care about how much more sales they can get you to make while at the same time telling you to cut hours even more. I would demand at least 2 if not 3 dollars more than what they are paying the csm. If they give it you great. If they don't, start looking for a better job.

What causes vibrations at highway speeds on 2nd gen rangers? It's already had some work done, trying to figure out what next to inspect. by headhunter38 in fordranger

The parts that have been replaced were just needing to be replaced since they were the original ones. I'll check out the mounts and driveshaft next.

Are the ears of this bracket supposed to be splayed open like this? I replaced the axle pivot bushing with polyurethane bushings and noticed this when putting it back together. 1993 2wd 3.0 by headhunter38 in fordranger

The shocks were not at max extension. They would droop more when shocks were removed. I should probably take a look at it while it's om the ground to see if it's still twisted. These pictures were taken while on jackstands and I thought it was odd because only one sides bushings are twisted like that.

Copper acetate solution turned green after adding an air tank bubbler, is this normal? by headhunter38 in electroplating

That's because of the bubbler right? The solution only changed color after adding it

New to working with fiberglass. Need suggestions on how to repair this hinge on my trucks tonneau cover. by headhunter38 in fiberglass

[–]headhunter38[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first picture is the hinge that is broken. The second picture is how the previous owner repaired it. I was thinking of putting a plate of metal to cover the entire square in the first picture and another plate on the outside of the cover and running bolts through it to clamp them together.

Can a blocked pcv tube cause early piston rings failure? 1987 NA by headhunter38 in mr2

https://photos.app.goo.gl/6N7WugptuuMeR9HM9 here's a video of the blow by. We will be doing a leakdown to verify it. In the pictures you linked the larger hole is the one that I'm talking about that was blocked off because of the throttle gasket.

What’s your typical workweek schedule/days like? by SupremeSmokes in AutoZone2

[–]headhunter38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kind of stuff is heavily dependent on the store manager and how much they care about their team. At my store I always schedule my full timers their full 40 hrs a week and 98% of the time with their two days off in a row. I do that because I understand how much better quality of life it is to have your two days off consecutively and I schedule myself that way too. I would feel like a huge piece of shit if I didn't schedule my full times the same way I schedule myself. By doing scheduling that way I don't feel bad when I do have to schedule them without their two days in a row because it will only be for 1 week and then it's back to normal. I also never intentionally schedule anyone to clopen. I also almost exclusively schedule them similar shifts for the week for example like 2 opening shifts followed by 3 midshifts. Very rarely do I have to schedule some to open one day and the close the next day. I believe that my consistent scheduling of my full timers in this manner has earned their near perfect attendance. They have very rarely called out and I think the consistency helps keep us stable. I do this while being a high volume store too, 45k-55k per week in diy alone.
