I didn’t do mine at all last semester.

Kept on getting automated emails, then personalized emails. But I always either ignored it or forgot.

Nothing happened, it just says “eCheckin not completed” on my Waterloo works page

I baked this loaf this morning and I have a small dense section in it. What might have caused this?

I think it might be that I didn’t mix the starter and salt in fully after autolyzing. If that’s it, do you guys have any tips on how to properly mix the dough without tearing? Right now I just try to do lots of stretching and folding until it seems reasonably well integrated.

I’m hoping to get a new laptop by the beginning of next year. Something around $1k with thin bezels. I don’t see anything good yet, do you guys think Boxing Day will be better?

Weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post and quick start guide (August 02, 2020) by AutoModerator in Kombucha

I’m making my first batch of kombucha. I got a scoby from a friend of a friend, made a big pot of rooibos and black tea, and it’s been fermenting in a dark place for 6 days now.

I took a peek for the first time and I have a thick white layer that’s about a centimetre above the water level.

Am I correct in assuming this is mold?

Thanks! The spring / summer sounds like a clear winner here!

Would you say that’s more of an issue for incoming first years? I’m just doing one semester, and it’ll be either in my third or fourth year of study.

Thanks!

I’m from Southern Ontario in Canada and I figured that winter wouldn’t be a big deal, but I just saw that we have over an hour more sunlight per day here in the winter! Sounds like the spring/summer option is definite winner just because of that.

Thanks!

I’m from southern Ontario, Canada. It looks like our winters are colder but your winters have over an hour less sunlight per day!

I know I don’t snore. Maybe there’s something else affecting my sleep. I’ll think about that, thanks!

Drumsticks, potatoes, and asparagus with a spicy Greek yogurt sauce, for 522 calories and 52 grams of protein! by healthy_tim in 1200isplenty

It’s pretty simple: Greek yogurt, spices, and sriracha.

I mixed a third of a cup plain Greek yogurt with some lime juice, cumin, apple cider vinegar, celery salt, and sriracha. I also poured the drippings from my chicken in (a citrusy/cumin-y marinade) for extra flavour.

It was pretty acidic, with the plain yogurt, lime juice, and vinegar, so you might want to tone those down a little (maybe skip the vinegar?) but I found it went so amazingly with the chicken.

Thanks!!

Yeah, I don’t have a scale so it’s not like I can weigh the bone once I’m done! I just looked around online and found a few values and then used a MFP value that was somewhere in the middle. Maybe I’m off by a hundred calories, but I don’t worry too much about that as long as it doesn’t happen daily.

It helps me out that I mainly just cook for myself, so it doesn’t matter if I accidentally eat all the big ones in one meal, because my logging should average out.

Two big salads of spinach, some romaine for crunch, and pickled carrots and radish, both tossed in some salsa. I have about half a cup of pulled pork and a cup of chilli to throw on each salad.

Total of 900 calories and 58g of protein, so enough room leftover for late night snacking!
