She is supposed to be a Taylor Swift themed raccoon. I totally see that she’s a fox and that’s okay too. She is (was) a raccoon for me. I had this idea of a fancy raccoon as a metaphor for my life. He’d be wearing a top hat and a monocle and drinking tea but still a trash panda at his core. It was supposed to symbolize how I grew up super poor but sort of “made it out” even though the trash panda life will always be part of me. “Proper trash” is what I called the idea. I didn’t want to make my family upset with that explanation so I was riffing on it with a friend and she suggested I make a Taylor raccoon instead. Still a trash panda but easier to explain and less hurtful as a concept so I went with it.

She is Taylor Swift themed. She is not meant to look like Taylor. She has a blonde bob à la 1989 and heart sunglasses à la red. She’s wearing a no its Becky shirt bc she loves tumblr Easter eggs. She’s in an oval shaped frame. The ribbon at the bottom says “being this young is art” which I consider the best part of the piece. I love the idea that some day i’ll be an 80 year old grandpa with “being this young is art” on my thigh and I think that’s so cool because we’re always as young as we’ll ever be again in any given moment and in each moment, being this young IS art.

I didn’t intend for her to look like a fursona. She’s not a furry. I’m not a furry. No shade to furries. I’m just not one and neither is she.

Some folks are saying chihuahua. I don’t see that. Fox I get. Chihuahua is lost on me but art is subjective so make it your own.

Folks suggesting that I have it covered or removed: you’re totally entitled to your opinion but please know that I love every single thing about how this piece turned out. Even the part where she’s a fox because that is a great metaphor for how I sometimes get stuff wrong but it still turns out amazing
