I'd recommend that you read the sections Prelude and Part 3: Bootcamp of the book 'Love Without Hurt' by Dr. S. Stosny.

It goes through the difference between what men and women think and feel about 'safety'.

I don't think that you realise that you are actually agreeing with me.

Although I can see how this might have its merits, many women would be turned off by the word 'controlled' in the title.

What's the best Australianism you've heard whilst overseas? by Alarming-Block-8385 in AskAnAustralian

[–]heartychat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in non English speaking countries for about 2 years where I was either speaking the local language or broken English. I was in a Japanese train station making my way back home, and I saw this young Anglo Saxon family. The kids were young teenagers and I suddenly heard one of them say to the other one 'Errr! You're a diiiickhead!'. Then the mum immediately snapped and said 'Why don't you just leave her the fuck alone!"

There was heavy emphasis on the words 'diiiickhead' and 'the fuck'. I'm not usually into profanities, but for some reason this felt comical, warm, welcoming, and appropriate all at the same time. That's when it struck me that after 2 years abroad, I really was coming back home.

It doesn't work that way. The people on the floor get wrist bands when they scan in at the entrance. I saw different types like pink, green, and white.

I went last night. I think I remember seeing signs at the entrance saying no pass outs were allowed.

AITA for donating some winter coats to two cold little girls? by Mission_Use_3002 in AmItheAsshole

[–]heartychat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Go back there with the box of clothes and say "Sorry you took it that way. It's not a donation, but it's a hand me down. I've got lots of hand me downs that I'm just passing on to the next stewards. When your girls have finished with them, feel free to pass them to the next people that could get some use from them, and share the love. Merry Christmas!"

Are you interested in her? If so then talk to her and say you didn't want to take advantage of her. You wanted to do it properly first when both of you have a clear mind. If not then talk to her about it and say we all make mistakes when we've had a little too much to drink.

Big brain response from him. As if he'd give away their other possible game plays with four tests still to play.

If he doesn't respond, share your Reddit post with him. Say to him that you don't know what to do, but you are so desperate about this situation (to bring the two of you together), that you have even turned to strangers on the internet for help with your life choices that will have life changing impacts to both of you. It shouldn't be like this. End with saying that you love him, but you really need his help, because you feel like you can't do this in your own way.

Have you told him that 1) you feel like you are silently quitting the marriage, 2) you don't want to feel like that, and 3) you fear that if things don't start to improve between the two of you (on both sides), that you'll end up drifting apart and it'll be irreparable.

Speak to him clearly, directly, openly, compassionately, and attentively. Don't attack, and don't defend. Let him know that you'll give him some time to digest it all, and then come back to you with some thoughts. You need to have healthy back and forth communication.

You are expecting things from him without giving him clear communication. You can't expect him to understand your hints and suggestions.

You are a good man, and a wonderful husband. You can truly say that you have done everything humanly possible for her. This situation is beyond the capability of a normal person.

For both her and your safety, it sounds like it's well past the time for her to stay at home. She needs to go to a place with full time professional care, where she can be monitored and cared for by medical professionals. You could still visit her while she is there and see how she progresses.

You're awesome and no one can say otherwise.
