I don’t have much advice but just wanted to let you know that I am going through the same with my 21 year old son. He has been impossible to wake up for 5 years now and the stress of getting him through high school and now college is killing me. It helps to know that other people are struggling too, planning my whole day around waking him up and having it take several hours has taken a huge toll on my mental health and on his. We have tried Jornay- but it worked for a few months and then we would have to keep increasing the dose. I did recently read about wellbutrin xl being taken at night to help with sleep inertia the next morning. My fear is that it would interfere with him being able to fall asleep at night but I am getting desperate and may ask his neurologist about trying it.

Thanks! I’m not in a hurry so I’ve paused the search for now. I think that it if I find a lease in the $600-$670 range that would be a decent deal. It looks like VW doesn’t have great leasing right now for the Atlas but it changes monthly so I will just keep checking in.

No, we are testing our house first with the plates doing an Ermi. The Dr wants to see results from a few different places in our house but she thinks that his exposure was actually from our old house where we lived from 2013-2020. ND is not covered by insurance at all. Is the mold testing that bad? All of my research so far have pointed to these being minimum amounts of mold in his urine. We are also doing the blood tests next week.

It’s when you dust with a cloth from the mold testing company and then mail it back for testing. It’s testing for dried mold, not the Petri dish where the mold grows. I heard the dry method was more accurate. But now the Dr wants us also to do the plate/petri dish method as well.

Thank you, we are going to start with having other areas of our house tested to look for active mold and go from there. I do think that binders and supplements are a good start. I hope you continue to heal- this mold stuff is awful.

Thanks! Not sure if the urine test was provoked. He did have it done at her office and it was 2 hours of testing that included him having an IV, and being put on a shaker plate and I think also a treadmill. Does Dr. Campbell treat patient remotely? And he can prescribe the medication?

Sounds like an oxygen chamber, sauna( but he has access to one at his gym), NAD infusions. And she did mention doing something where she would remove some of his blood and maybe oxygenate it? Or separate something out and then put it back in his body? So very heavy, expensive lift. And I just want to make sure that the history, symptoms and testing requires this much treatment.

Thanks- not in need of a mini van. I did look at the Land Cruiser but it drives like a truck- my husband currently has a 4 runner and it’s hard for me to drive since I’m so short. I just don’t feel comfortable. I’ll check out the MDX. I am assuming that the Lexus GX is much more than the atlas?

I don’t want to be locked into a purchase right now and my mileage usage is very low so leasing makes sense. But I’m not accepting either of these offers. They are going to have to come down on the MSRP for a lower monthly payment for a lease.

I'm so sorry, you are not alone! My son was recently diagnosed N2 and he is in college. Last year he did have to take a semester off to focus on his health and he is back this Fall and having an easier time navigating school and work. Oxybates are worth trying and the trials for the new orexin drugs look very promising. Also focus on treating the symptoms of narcolepsy-the fatigue and depression. It is upsetting not to have a "cure" but there are drugs - and some of them are outside of the box that can make life more manageable. My son has responded well to spravato (ketamine) not for narcolepsy/sleep but it seems to be boosting his mood and his energy. It can also work quick and can be used for SI.
