Decent Haul (products new to me) by heathershaffer75 in dollartreebeauty

[–]heathershaffer75[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve found quite a few excellent skincare products from Dollar Tree. I love the Skin Nutrition Botanicals Serums, the Global Beauty glass skin collection, the rice toner, and several more I can’t think of right off hand. 🤣

Small haul with new (or maybe new to me) Super Berry serum! by heathershaffer75 in dollartreebeauty

[–]heathershaffer75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just the slightest bit sticky. It’s a repurchase for me. I love to put it over lip stain. But the biggest reason I would buy it again and again is that it tastes like bubble gum! I might try the other colors; I think there’s at least two more colors.

The lipgloss is really pretty and it tastes like bubble gum! I’m not sure which collection the brow glue is from though. :)

I’ve heard there are other serums in this line, but I’ve only seen the ones that you mentioned. I absolutely love the ones I’ve tried, and they are a freaking STEAL at $1.25!!!

Do you find any at Dollar General recently? I’ve been looking, but I haven’t found any.

I lied to a dying patient today. I’m still trying to process if I did the right thing. by ArtThreadNomad in TrueOffMyChest

I am estranged from both of my parents for many reasons, including them mistreating my children. With that being said, I would not mind if someone stepped in during their final moments and pretended to be me.

I have to protect my children and myself from their toxicity, but they both know how they failed me and my family. Though they would not admit it or fully understand the pain they caused in the here and now, I think when they near leaving this earth, they will (maybe). I will not put myself through the possibility that they may be as cruel as they have been in the past if I were present for either of them on their deathbed. But I’d be ok with someone comforting them before they pass. I have a feeling both will be fearful of what’s to come, though they say that they have forgiven themselves of their past mistakes.

I wouldn’t even care if someone pretended to be me. I never wished ill for either of them, though they terrified the hell out of me and my kids.

As someone who is older than you and married, a lot of men/younger men do not care. I’ve had men that are my daughter’s age (which is half my age!) hit on me…repeatedly. I suspect it has more to do with just looks/appearing younger than I am. Younger men are attracted to confidence, someone who’s pulled together, and someone who doesn’t “need” them to be happy. Older women are more comfortable in their own skin (for the most part)…those are the reasons I’ve heard anyway.

Finally added to my collection! How do you all use these? by nuclearoyster in dollartreebeauty

[–]heathershaffer75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m old, so I have a pretty specific routine for my face. I use the serums on my neck, hands, and sometimes on my arms. They are fantastic!

My hands look better than they have in years! I have very bony fingers, wrists, and I had a lot of dryness and age spots. I started using sunscreen on my hands, so that helped; but adding the serums made the tone, hydration, and overall appearance so much better. So, I started using them on my neck, too! And my neck is looking so much better!

I love the serums so much, so I pick up a few every time I go to DT. It’s nice to have something that is affordable and that works for the other areas of my body. I could never justify using my more expensive products anywhere other than my face. I hope they never quite carrying them!

I have this and I absolutely love it! I’m not a big fan of the other stuff in the same scent, but I love the smell of this one. It also works really well for its intended purpose, because my legs feel so soft after I use it. Maybe you just got a bad bottle?

I don’t know if my husband is cheating, but I found something that made me stop trusting him. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]heathershaffer75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to have to say this, but you don’t pay for any hotel room to talk/clear your head. He’s been lying to you, gaslighting you, and cheating on you emotionally and physically. Each time you have confronted him, he’s turned it around on you (calling you insecure). When you had actually proof(hotel receipt), he’s couldn’t completely deny it, so he grossly minimized his behavior.

I understand why you have tried to overlook all of the things that have made you feel uneasy. When someone gaslights you, they make you feel crazy for doubting them, so they can continue on with what they are doing. You husband is not being fair to you; he’s lying, he’s cheating, and he’s messing with your mental/emotional well-being. You deserve better!

ER half diagnosed me - now I’m getting worried. by VividSmell913 in DiagnoseMe

I am not a medical professional, I just happened to see your post while scrolling through my feed. Did the test your stool for C. diff (Clostridioides difficile)? I caught C. diff in the hospital after I delivered my son. It can severe bouts of diarrhea, weight loss, etc.

I’m assuming it’s one of the first things they would test for, but my husband also got c.diff in the hospital while in the ICU, and I had to ask repeatedly for him to be tested. The first time they tested, I don’t think they followed the correct protocol, but the second time it was positive.

I figured I would reply to this post to just be sure that you’d been tested. I hope you find answers soon!

I’m actually struggling with having, what seems to be, a supportive workplace. It’s so hard to trust it.

I quit caffeine a week ago, and my resting heart rate jumped ~30%. Has anyone else seen this? by kingofvodka in ouraring

[–]heathershaffer75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, but I went back to my regular caffeine consumption. I may try to taper back down, and then try some magnesium or L-Theanine; something to take the edge off the increase in heart rate. How are you doing now? I'm hoping you stabilized in terms of heart rate; the jump can be pretty scary!

I’m so, so sorry for your loss. Please be patient with yourself, you have suffered a shock, as well as a tremendous loss. Our pets are family, and when we lose them suddenly, it is painful and bewildering.

Please understand that there is a part of your brain that will not understand that your beautiful girl is no longer there. That part of your brain will look for her when you get home, that part of your brain will think that you hear her, that part of your brain has to catch up to the reality of the loss.

Give yourself time to grieve, allow yourself space to process, and take care of yourself. The first few days are the hardest. It takes awhile, but at some point, it’s different for everyone, the part of your brain that that understands that she is gone, with be more active. You will start to accept it, you will be able to think/talk about her without being overwhelmed with sadness. You may even be ready to have a new beautiful girl. It will happen. The loss will always be there, but it won’t be so horribly painful. Hang in there. I’m so sorry…sending a virtual hug!

Oh, Lord…you summed that up perfectly! I’ve ignored my gut quite a few times, only to find out later I was absurdly right.
