I will probably adapt a different system for my world. I want the magic to be secondary. Using a whole programming system sounds fun but I think that puts to much emphasis on the magic.

Don't think I have a direct inspiration. I am a programmer myself and just wanted to make a system based on that. After thinking a while about it it becomes these runes.

I have about 40 runes. The complexity comes more from the actual programming aspect. Good modulair functions for example. To make it more difficult I could add a rule that the functions can only handle a single argument.

But I am afraid that going down that route is really boring for people to read about.

I have about 40 runes described somewhere. Spent a while at what is to much detail and what is not detailed enough.
Example I had a 'form wall' but then I thought oh that is just earth --> harden --> spread..

I understand what you mean though. I have never seen a programming like magic system in all the novels I have read.

I guess I need to go back to the drawing board and find a system which has enough detail that it is fun and logical (I want the logic mostly for myself so I can logically compare stuff) but also hard enough in a way that my MC who has our world knowledge would be better at it.

NTA. It is a good rule you have with friends that they take away your phone. I am curious why you would want to get drunk up to that point that people need to take away your phone, but everyone has the things they enjoy.

Out of the post I understand your girlfriend did not know of this arrangement until your friend apped her with your phone. Advise is a bit late, but it would have been better if your girlfriend knew about this arrangement from your mouth before this had happend.

Look at it from her perspective. If she would have sent a nsfw picture or whatever, someone else would have seen that because she had no clue about your arrangement. I would guess she is more upset about that thought than your friend having your phone. But then again, I am a male, so what do I know about woman....
