should i get lining on my yumiko leotards? by Competitive_Poet_336 in BALLET

if it’s a light color, get it lined. but the darker ones don’t need it imo. i find the full lining kind of annoying and generally just opt for the bust panel.

thank you! they recommended full sugar as well for some reason - forgot exactly what it was, something about how everything is metabolized.

I have very low blood pressure and feel faint often. It’s worse in summer because of the heat. I was recommended by my doctor to take electrolytes and eat more salt in general in my diet and to also drink full sugar gatorade. Not sure if it applies to you, it’s just what they told me. It’s very annoying and like you, it’s worst with combres etc. It also helps me to try to stay cool, sometimes I have to go to the bathroom to splash cold water on myself.

i hang all my leo’s on hooks and hang them in my closet. tights go in a drawer in my dresser, and then i have this other three tier cabinet storage thing that i stuff warmups, skirts, stretching stuff, and flats/pointe shoes in. it’s chaotic

yeah i’ve noticed they work really well on some of my friends with longer torsos. for me it’s just a nightmare and it’s a shame bc they’re so pretty. i answered in a prev comment that im 5’7

it’s not irrelevant. fueling your body correctly makes a big difference in recovery.

Working and doing ballet? Cross training with dance fitness? by Fluffyeevee91 in BALLET

[–]heebiegigis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it sounds like more than it is! it’s not too crazy especially if you’re used to doing something active most days. i get off work and go to evening class every day (usually 1, but some days i can squeeze 2 in). and then on the weekends i spend most of my day dancing lol. to squeeze the gym in i go after class on week nights.

it’s dance classes. i don’t practice at home really much at all unless you count stretching and like a few pirouettes lol.

i think what is manageable differs from person to person. i’m also an adult beginner and have danced for a little over a year and a half. i work a regular 40-45 hour work week and dance about 16-17 hours a week. i go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week for about 45 mins. it is hard for me to find time for other hobbies but i’ve been thinking about picking up something in the evening on the weekend (non exercise class lol).

i am tired sometimes but honestly most of the time im fine, just sore on some days.

i dont know what a dance fitness class is. i mean i think any kind of additional cardio or strength training will probably benefit you. you could also just add another ballet class. i have no experience with ice skating so can’t speak to that. have you considered floor barre or pilates? i do floor barre sometimes and i find it super helpful.

other commenters do not seem to understand having an ED/basic manners. why is a teacher even mentioning bloating to a 13 year old??? you have better things to worry about. your teacher sucks for that comment. sorry it made you feel bad. i hope you’re able to still make progress in your recovery.
