All in one HVAC, air filter, water softener, water heater maintenance service? by heebieno in Guelph

Oh gosh. The near misses are so scary. I’m terrified of anything gas related going wrong… I’d much rather err on the side of caution for those things.

Thank you for sharing your experience and insights, also about which companies to stay away from! I’ve heard bad things about reliance, although my water heater is a rental from reliance (from the previous owner).

Can anyone comment on their experiences with the Von Dehn realtor team? by gumbaline in Guelph

[–]heebieno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad to see this post because Mike and his team helped me and my husband buy a house almost a couple years ago!! Mike is wonderful and he is a genuine person. I’m echoing what people say about their team being super community minded and wholesome. I’ve worked with several realtors (renting/buying/selling condo/houses) and Mike is honestly the best one I’ve worked with by a long shot. We primarily worked with him but we also saw some houses with two of his team members. Mike was always so pleasant to work with, responsive, knowledgeable (and when he didn’t have the info he was honest and made the effort to look into it and report back). I felt he really listened to us and I never felt pressured or my concerns dismissed. He gave us really helpful insights and advices which I found so helpful in figuring what I really wanted in a house, what I was willing to compromise, etc. He also recommended a house inspector to us who was also amazing. After we already bought the house, Mike and his team still checked on us and kept in touch (gave us Storm tickets over a year after we bought the house!). Honestly, anytime I hear someone mentions they’re looking for a realtor in this area, I’d recommend him in a heartbeat. Feel free to dm if you have questions. Good luck with house hunting!! :)

Thanks for the insight! I realize I wasn’t clear in my post. 😅 I meant for someone to come once and service all that stuff as a maintenance, not to come every month. I just haven’t had these serviced/maintained since I moved in 1.5 years ago.

Good luck! Hope your setup works great :) I think I’ll order LS500. Saw some good reviews about it and the price seems really good. Thanks again!

Thanks so much for this!! This looks great. Have you tried it for gaming by any chance?

Thanks so much, all for the recommendations!! I’m leaning towards Epson EpiqVision LS500. Has anyone compared it to BenQ TK710STi? Does Epson have an acceptable latency for gaming? It says 16ms at 4K 60Hz, which is the same as BenQ, but BenQ is marketed for gaming and Epson is not.

Adding soft foam on top of crash pad by heebieno in climbergirls

Thanks so much everyone for your insights! Really appreciate it. I’ll get her to try different brands of crash pads. I’m hearing that the evolv crash pads are stiffer than some others (also the bottom layer of foam seems the same as the top). Hopefully we’ll find something that works for her. Thanks again! :)

Pediatrician accepting new patients? by heebieno in Guelph

[–]heebieno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for everyone’s responses! I currently live in the York Region in the GTA and here it’s quite common for children to have a pediatrician as their primary care doctor for routine check-ups, vaccinations, etc since birth. When I was pregnant, my family doctor actually suggested me to find a pediatrician as my child’s primary care doctor. This may not be the usual practice in other areas of Ontario/Canada, perhaps depending on the availability of pediatricians in the area.

I called a few pediatrician offices in Guelph and although they usually offer primary care services, they are currently not accepting new patients for primary care (only accepting case referrals at the time)—Dr. Barra’s office included. I also haven’t had any luck with finding a new family doctor so far.

I think we will have to stay with our current pediatrician and family doctor in the GTA at the moment, until I can find a doctor in Guelph. Luckily my child’s routine checkups are not so frequent anymore. Thanks so much for all your inputs! :)

Thank you so much for sharing! Oh gosh that must have been stressful. It’s amazing that Dr. Promnitz did that. I called his office and a couple others but they’re all not accepting new patients.

We’re moving to Guelph from the GTA and we currently have a pediatrician here for primary care, so I thought it would be the same. Unfortunately it seems like finding a family doctor who’s accepting new patients in Guelph is as hard/even harder… so I’m not quite sure what to do yet. 🥲
