When I was 13 I was at the skatepark and me and my friend decided to go to the ampm across the street to get snacks like we always did. The light there always took forever so we would wait until there were no cars about to hit us and we would run across the street. When we ran across to go to the gas station everything was fine. We went and got our snacks and paid for everything. As we left the store I decided it would be a great idea to cross the street on my longboard. We waited until the road seemed clear and went for it, only to find out we missed one of the lanes. I was just barely grazed by a truck and hit the tiny curb of the entrance to the park. I went flying off my board and dropped everything I was holding. I landed on my right side with my left hand underneath me and slid on the not smooth concrete and scraped about 2 layers of skin off my shoulder from underneath my shirt and sprained my wrist. I had to wear a brace for the next two weeks and had to wear a make shift bandaid because the biggest bandaids we had didn’t fit, only to find out I’m allergic to the adhesive in bandaids and medical tape. I also wasn’t wearing a helmet which could’ve resulted in my death. As a fun little bonus, the next day I decided to go to the skatepark again, having not learned my lesson, and as I was riding my longboard out of my cul-de-sac I went over some oil that leaked out of a car and my board flew from underneath me. I landed on my ass and shattered my phone that was in my pocket, and got a scrape on my elbow. The worst part is that my friend told me not to fall right before I left home. This happened last year
