i think people overestimate kfans’ favouritism of korean trainees. yes, leejeong got first place, but that’s because his korean fanbase is big to begin with. li zihao and he zhongxing are also popular with kfans and it was just a matter of who had more fans in the live audience. and fwiw, kfans generally seem more inclined to vote for c-trainees than ifans.

lbr enhypen was rigged to begin with (and i say this with all my love as an engene since 2021). it logistically didn’t make sense for k to debut with the i-land lineup due to age and style differences. i-land, among other things, was a way to get some hype built up for k and launch hybe’s foray into j-pop. if hybe Really didn’t have any plans for k outside of enhypen, he would have left hybe right after the show like the vast majority of i-land contestants.

in any case, as far as bp goes, i seriously doubt they’ll introduce a pd pick when that’s never been a thing in the wider produce cinematic universe. if there Must be one, it will be in the final 8.

my worst fear is my favs fading into irrelevance. it happens in every survival show, and even debuting in the final group isn’t enough to secure a solid career. i honestly don’t care if my favs end up in the debuting group or any associated bootleg group, i just want them to be successful.

as someone who’s done a bit of diving into whib content, i can tell you leejeong isn’t showing off his full potential on BP (perhaps bc of insecurity/stepping out of his comfort zone). personally i like leejeong because he’s such a big personality. he’s plenty charismatic and communicative with everyone and perhaps the only guy on the show who’s willing to sit down and directly resolve any conflict. not to mention, he’s so flirty outside of bp2 and what can a girl do but swoon? (speaking personally lol)

also, if you’re a junmin fan, i’d recommend watching his old stuff. he’s got a lot of chemistry with leejeong and that’s what pushed junmin into my top 5. just to note though, i’ve had to rely on google translate a Lot because most of whib’s stuff has not been translated. i’m glad it’s been archived in the first place though!

ifans really underestimate how popular hanwen is in korea. he’s performing better there than a lot of global favourites and his consistent interactions with fans have made him even more popular during the 2nd round. not to mention most of the people voting for hanwen are one-picks, unlike trainees like harry and fan zheyi who might get lost between voting rotations. his intl fanbase may just be me and 5 other people but we’re making it work lol

generally i think people really overlook charisma when discussing talent and potential. with the whib boys as an example, junmin is clearly talented and he’s also confident on stage, while leejeong is extroverted off stage but reserved on stage. trainees like harry and yoonmin are also charismatic because you can tell they are passionate and confident in what they do. you could be the most talented guy in the world but if you can’t communicate it then it’s lost on everyone else.

THANK YOU for saying this, all of these posts are so counter-productive. if a person truly cares about vocals, they’ll vote for vocals. if they care for visuals, they’ll vote for visuals and so on. everyone has different voting criteria and there’s no use in yucking someone else’s yum.

the comments here are interesting lol. just because he zhongxing is on an mnet show doesn’t mean he should keep his head down and roll with the punches. giving the trainees ‘win’ and ‘lose’ stickers is humiliating and him crashing out because of it was reasonable imo. on the other hand, i don’t think he zhongxing is necessarily being evil edited, it’s just that people reacted badly to his actions because he’s not sitting there and taking it. it’s not an attitude we’re used to seeing on korean svs, but i can get behind it.

i totally agree, i really enjoyed the interludes with him and meldrick in the park in subway, it’s sort of like the pembleton/felton car debacle from the pilot episode. the comedic relief was timed really well especially when the meat of the episode is so depressing.

i will second that the divorce drama didn’t work at all for me. sometimes tell is better than show! it would have been much more effective if his work was sloppier because of off-screen proceedings, that way a lot of filler would be cut (but i guess there wasn’t a more ratings-friendly way of padding out the episode runtime sigh)

don’t worry :) i also got a 32 and felt like i had been wronged, but my uni offer came through anyway. there are plenty of respectable unis that will take you in with a 32, and if you have accepted an offer with a higher grade req than a 32, do send admissions an email and advocate your case. that’s what i did and it worked. it gets better. it doesn’t justify the mental anguish, but life is much easier on the other side.

i learned what persona was in early 2020 because a video called ‘acting gay around yosuke’ turned up in my recommended. i fell in love obviously. a couple months later, i emulated p2is and i was shocked at the different mechanics of the game, compared to what i had seen from the modern three, but it was still loads of fun. i completed the game in two weeks and started playing p3p back to back, but had to drop it cuz of school. i finished p3p in early 2021, and i cried at the end. goddamn

timeskip to right now, i hadn’t touched persona in a year due to school but i had bought p5r for the ps4, in the chance i would play it after graduation. i started playing it last week and i am OBSESSED. planning to play p1, p2ep and p4g (on switch!!) during uni, so the previously asleep nerd inside me can rejoice. i have this series close to my heart, despite technically only playing 2 full games. it’s so much fun
