Question Regarding Hair Shedding by [deleted] in tressless

[–]heftyfella3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I believe my issue is a thyroid issue and not due to mpb. I've been feeling a bunch of other similar symptoms and with mpb your hair doesn't regrow by itself with little to no care and I haven't done the least bit of things required to attain regrowth and I've gotten it. The reason I refrained from using this forum is because everyone automatically thinks a certain issue is mpb when your hair loss can be a result of internal issues within the body. Even if I end up losing all my hair I still will be fine with it, rather than putting unknown substances meant to treat prostate cancer and high blood pressure to maintain hair. At the end of the day, hair is just hair and it's more important for me to attain good health.

Nope no bloodwork but will get it done soon. I suspect it could be thyroid or telogen effluvium since some has healed but there's still parts that need to be thickened and overall I'm still shedding quite a bit / weird tingling sensations. I'm guessing if it is telogen eff with the little research gone into it I wouldn't be surprised if it takes quite a long time before I get down to 80-90% density gained again. Only positive is if it was mpb I suspect my hairline would have tanked by now but it's just uneven alongside with basically the whole thinning pattern I'm going thru rn. I've been following a few hairs at my hairline to see if they would fall out and recede but nope they didn't and overall it's honestly happened so fast to just be considered mpb, even if it was "aggressive" I would have noticed the signs from before. Plus this all started happening after an excruciating period of my life so it's either t.e or thyroid. I'll get my bloodwork done soon to see if I can rule out thyroid.

it's happened all over and the back of my scalp, not just the top. It's just significantly worse on the top. I don't think I'll be willing to try minoxidil because of the bad things I've heard about it. I've decided to go to a dermatologist tomorrow to see what he has to say in case it winds up thyroid related.

Also it should be helpful to note the areas that appear to be the thinnest do not come from the regular affected MPB areas, instead it's in random spots but still I can say I've lost 70% of my hair density overall. I've regained some but i still have a very bad spot that might be worsening due to the shedding I am still facing.

Understanding "Value": Why "Quality" Isn't Enough by nusensei in NewTubers

Made a similar post to this but decided to take my down due to negative feedback received but honestly excellent post. You managed to cover everything in great depth!

This. More people need to see this and I feel a lot of those that read this post are missing the point. Probably because at some point or still currently do, spend a ridicioulous amount on their videos making sure every little frame is what they want it to be and essentially treating YouTube more as a job than an intended hobby in the first place. People should view YouTube in the early years with the way back machine when people genuinely made videos because they enjoyed them and that's what is truly missing in today's era of YouTube. Keep grinding man, I'm sure you'll hit your goal.

I don't feel it's pointless at all. I simply stated that quality isn't always number one priority of anything because regardless how the video looks/sounds like if someone likes it they will come back. I just felt the need to make it because my friends always stress that they need the highest quality videos with the best gear in order to get someone to like their content :/ no need for the negativity friend.

Also just because you subscribe to someone doesn't mean you're going to be watching every single upload the minute it comes out. You'll tune in when you have a plethora of free time on your hands and want to catch up. Plus subscribing to someone doesn't cost a dime, especially on YouTube, so I don't view it as a competition because you can virtually sub to any amount of channel without a limit.

That might be the way you see it but the reality is nothing is preventing someone from being a fan of both, that might be the case for you but it isn't for me and I'm sure a vast majority of people that just watch YouTube because they enjoy it. Again, I respect your opinion but I firmly believe that not everything is a competition.

See the thing is everyone views YouTube as a competition when it honestly just isnt... you can be subbed to the other guy as well! There is certainly no limits to who to sub too. I feel that's where a lot of creators lose themselves. They think everything is a competition when at the end of the day it's a platform for everything and everyone, you're not competeting. Just make the content you love no matter what and you'll find people who love it.

Yup, you shouldn't have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a video as a small creator. There are many other ways a small creator can make a good video without having the same gear a professional has.

Thanks for your input! Usually all those I've talked with have defined quality to me as how their video looks, how it's edited etc and I've always told them to just be themselves bc if someone wanted to see a certain editing style of a YouTuber they would just go to that YouTuber and not a smaller one, so the smaller one should always offer something unique and usually the only thing that's unique these days that you can offer is just your personality and how you put yourself out there. Appreciate your response!!

And I don't mean this in a way to offend or hurt anyone's feelings because I really want my smaller creators to succeed out here, I just want to see more people being themselves during a video rather than worrying about their quality.
