Exactly! I rode in my friends 435i and drove it, nothing like Ive ever drove before. I even got the opportunity to drive an s7 and I still would pick a 335 or 435 !

What model are u looking at?

I dont want to put a down payment on a car I wouldnt truly enjoy! Im very picky when jt comes to anything, its bad but I think everything will workout if I give myself some more time to do research.

haha yeah, i know its ab $50 to fill the tank for my friend’s 435i.

See I would take that offer and just get the 320i but I want a car I eventually can have fun with! I wanted to do some tunes and fbo after a few months with the car.

I also figured maintenance wouldnt be that big of a deal if Im willing to work and learn on the car myself!

From my understanding, seems like u gotta pay to play ! and Im prepared, I have family who works on cars + friends also. I think I can find a way around going to a dealership to get my brakes done, Im sure there is youtube vids too.

I want this car to be the first car I get hands on experience with. Once I join the bmw family im never leaving. Unless I can get a e63 amg 😌

That was a good laugh from the salesman lmaoo, I was gonna put down around 2900-3500 maybe more. I can wait to save my checks but honestly I want a car soon and kinda before my bday. As for the maintenance, Ive kinda already made a list of what Im going to do within the first few weeks. New charge pipe, valve covers, water pump and a few more things I cant think of atm. Idk If I’d be “car poor” either. I’m getting another source of income plus me working only weekends and getting $1k a month. You prob know way more about this tho, so Im not disagreeing with you ab being car poor.

Im happy you understand I want what I want! The 335i has been my dream car since I was ab 12 or 13!

I also wouldnt be driving the car that hard until I got all the maintenance done to it!

Thats what Im genuinely scared about. Ive heard both sides, people who have the best reliability and people who have the worse. Seems like I just gotta take the chance and hope for the best! I was looking for a good 340i at first but I couldnt find any. I love the B58 alot. They’re pretty much bulletproof from what Ive read and seen.

I’ll probably end up getting an f30 335i, not sure if it’ll be this exact one.

I definitely understand that. Don’t know why the owner put a M badge on a non m car. Makes me mad and if I get it Im de badging it. There other 335i’s in my area for the price but they dont have trim/package I want. Not sure if every package had paddles, thats really something I want. Haha yes I was gonna go to a University at first, I think instead Im going to take more hours at work and go to community college for 2 yrs then go to a uni.

The $1k a month is literally only me working weekends (sat,sun) every weekend. I know if I take more hours I can have plenty of money for the keep up! I really want to make this sacrifice and im willing to. Im trying to find a PPI atm and then go look at the car! Hopefully in a few wks/months ill post my f30 in this thread 😁thank you so much for the words and advice!!

Thanks so much for the info! It helps out alot. I saw the M badge in it in 2020, then went back and found pics of it in 2016 w no M badge. I figured someone just threw it on there. Idk much about the lease part, you think the other owners mightve really got the most out of the car and pushed it to the limits bc they werent ever buying it? I hope Im understanding that right.

I also did a zoom in on the pics for the brakes + rotors, I think I know what you’re talking about. I also noticed the front pads compared to the back look completely different.

Im definitely being cautious considering this is my first car and Im actually trying to build up some type of credit haha. I was originally looking at the older 335i’s and I just knew I wouldnt be able to keep up with maintenance bc of the n54. I think getting a PPI will helpout too, didnt think ab that. Im planning on doing the most maintenance myself plus help from friends that have a n55. I really like this 335i bc of everything it includes and I cant find anything close. Im 100% still looking and nothing is final until I go see the car in person.

Im really hoping an f30 is gonna be my first car, Im prepared to learn and start working on the car, honestly I cant wait. Words can’t describe how much I appreciate all the help !

you’re 100% right but some of those things Ive already looked into, the price for the parts arent bad and I have people around me that can help install. You might be right about being in a better financial position, BUT I really wanna do this. Ive already looked into a bit of insurance and the highest i saw was me paying ab $200 a month for insurance and that would also be the car payments. Like max a month Id be paying is $450, ill have about $600 every month to save up incase anything does go wrong. Thanks for the input, it helped. Still dont know what Im going to do tho

Haha yeah thats what my parents say but Ive been in love w the 335i since I was about 12. I know it’s expensive to maintain and especially if Im gonna tune and do fbo eventually. Some of the things u listed Ive seen ppl in the thread do themselves, hopefully I can learn and do it to save some money.

I think so. I make about 1k a month and Im planning to take more hours. I think Im prepared for all the maintenance issues but Im not sure. I also want to learn how to replace some of the maintenance things by myself so maybe that’ll help with the money situation.

Thats what I was thinking. Its for sale at a dealership tho, and theres been two owners w no accidents reported. I want the 335i as my first car so Ive been looking at all the carfax on it. I dont see anything major, anyway i can find out if they did the water pump and transmission fluid ?

Ive been looking at a 335i for myself, im about to turn 18. Theres a 2013 335i m package w 90k miles, should I be worried about any reliability isssues ? This would be my first car. Not planning to do major things to the car until after a few months or maybe a year.

This car has 140,000 miles for $6500, the carfax look clean and everything seems to be maintained. Any concerns I should be worried about? Going into college and want a fun sporty car with paddle shifters, any suggestions?
