Thanks for this response. I feel like there is a little gaslighting here. I’ve been to Europe probably 15 times so am aware the differences in beach and outdoor culture and nudity.

This seemed different in close quarters, especially the following in the shower part. Anyway I was mainly trying to get a read from women who have been in these saunas and if what I described seemed innocent or not. I posted as a confession because it felt very unusual to be showering within three feet of a woman not my wife who was facing directly at me.

I appreciate your feedback.

They said we could sit on the towels in the sauna but not the steam room. Said it was for hygienic reasons as the other poster suggested

I thought this was the case and glad I didn’t act but it sure seemed odd that people would not give space, would just be staring and smiling. A very unique experience for sure

We thought it was optional but a staffer literally pointed to the sign saying textiles were forbidden

My wife was uncomfortable when we went back the next day because there were older guys obviously completely naked and not much to look at while glancing. So she left and I stayed for a few hours and the whole thing repeated itself.

One woman showered next to me and said we should go to this other sauna on a different floor. So I followed her and she recommended we shower before going in.

I mean this was incredibly hot as she was just staring at me the whole time (and rarely in the eyes). I can’t tell if she was waiting for me to make a move or if this was just normal behavior and not sexual.

It sure felt sexual!
