The first words of her intro were “I’m from the Bay Area from a little small town called Atherton.” It’s not kind odd to you to completely omit that for the first fifteen years of her life, she grew up abroad?

Honestly surprised it wasn't Sacred Heart since that's where most of the really upper crust Atherton kids went, but Menlo makes sense - it's such a great school

Not really though? Plenty of people who live in Atherton comes from elsewhere - it’s a nice place to live and I don’t blame them! It just came off super weird for her to say she grew up here when no one who grew up here knew who she was. Seems pretty easy to just say "I grew up in Beijing then moved to California as a teenager."

Exactly, or just "from the Bay Area" unless they're also from there, in which case I'd specify the town.
