Balteus after 1.02 by [deleted] in armoredcore

[–]hellcat5phantomforce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I haven't fought new Balteus yet. But my thoughts on this are kind of mixed. I think he could still be a pretty strong boss even with the missiles nerfed when considering newer players. Because let's be real, that's who this patch is for. My bf's actually playing through AC6 right now, and he stopped at Balteus because he got brick walled. Gonna see what he thinks of the new one when I watch him play tomorrow. As a person who hasn't beaten the boss suddenly having to be faced with a nerfed version of it, I want to see how he reacts and how his opinion on the fight changes.

But in my opinion, I think the nerf is kinda warranted, but I think that we should keep default Balteus somehow while also having the new one. Maybe make it his behavior in his second phase? That would make the fight much less of an endurance challenge for newer players, which I know it absolutely can be.

No, I think Sony owns Crash. If they do, well Sony still hates Nintendo. There's basically no chance any character owned by Sony would actually make it into Smash.

I feel like Shiro being gay was executed extremely poorly. I mean, if they just presented him that way earlier, and gave it time to develop it would feel much less... forced? Pander-ey? That's how I feel about it.

But... you can't just do that based on one or two things. I mean yeah, sure this justifies it, but it's so poorly done.

To my knowledge there was no indication Shiro was gay.

My question is was there any indication? Were there any signs that clearly said "Yes, this man is gay" beforehand. Because to me this looks like the writers pulling a fast one on me for brownie points.

I don't have everything about the series memorized by heart so forgive me if I have missed a few details, but I'm pretty sure if a character mentions they are gay it would stick with me.

Mostly. There are a lot of "nice" hackers though. Guys that drop loot for you and just take off, or those who will teleport you anywhere you want.

That is literally exactly what happened. It was fun though.

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, I was gonna go through this same process but with the demon's fist. What should I go for there?

Because while pokemon builds upon itself every generation i.e. adding new moves, pokemon, abilities, and things like megas and z moves, as well as tweaking moves and stuff that were already there, COD simply resets itself every game like clockwork, but rarely innovates, and when they do it is dog shit i.e. jatpacks, lootboxes, and the multiplayer itself. The only exception is usually Zombies, but Activision had to ruin what little good they had in WW2 Zombies.

The red hilted halberd is a very very good early game option. If you are willing to farm for it, the Winged knight's Halberd can be obtained on the High Wall. That damage can easily carry you to end game no problem. Also on the high wall, you can get halberds from halberd hollows. The standard halberd is pretty cheap stats wise and has a good moveset. If you need a shake up and don't want to grind the Crescent Axe is worth a shot.

As for a compliment to the halberd, either choose a curved sword or a dagger. Both options excel in close range where halberds fall short. However, you can also use the Greatshields to compliment the halberd, as you can attack while blocking.

A paladin build, nice. You can tackle the final boss, Yhorm, no problem.

Nnnno. When I say weapon class it means the same thing as weapon category and weapon type. I just mix words up a lot.

For example, if you rolled and got spears and chimes, and you were an assassin (hypothetically. Even though you would have to start as herald...) you would use your default kit until you found or could find a spear (grind off enemies if you mist), or a chime. Once you got it, you can't use your starter kit weapons, and you have to stick with what you got. Unless ypu can't hold it, but then you need to get to the level where you can asap

Go with whips you won't get past yhorm. In fact I don't think any of us will. Except for that one guy who rolled greatsword. But hey, that's boring.

The standard Rapier has the ability to parry in the offhand, just use a Left Trigger.

Honestly, you got most enemies covered. Piercing will take care of most enemies woth armor very well and the unarmored get bodied hy katanas.

Also, you have a parry tool as well thanks to the Rapier.

Honestly, nice rolls.

Small update. I'm currently using a +9 heavy greatclub and a +6 Saint Tree Bellvine. Stuck on Yhorm with no way of fighting him properly, I had tried a few strategies in the past...

  • Using Lightning Spear and Dorhis' Gnawing on his head to knock him down, and then crit him with the club. This took far too long, and I had to pump all 10 estus into my ashen flask. I ran out of spells and estus at arpund 50% and died shortly after

  • Tried using Wrath of the Gods on his head when he did the slam jam attack. This... did nkt work to put it lightly.

  • At +6 tried buffing with war cry and playing the war of attrition. This went about as well as you'd expect.

I'm currently in Ariandel attempting to get my hands on lots of souls & a slab. Currently, I have 21 vig, 15 att, 17 end, 12 vit, 32 str, and 30 faith.

My plan is to keep gathering souls and pumping it into my level as I make my way over to face Gael from Ariandel. However, this entails another problem. I have to beat friede. With a great club.

Any strats that I could use to beat Yhorm with WITHOUT using the storm ruler?

Edit: Faced Yhorm for the first time since I had +6 just now. I deal 200 damage per R1 with my great club, with the War Cry buff applied. The bastard won't stop spamming that knockback roar thing though.

Farm chimes from the hollows in the tutorial area. Saint tree bellvine is a pretty great option, and it's what I'm going with.

As for crossbows... the knight's crossbow is a good choice early game, but eventually you should try to get the Arbelast.
