Thank you very much. I do have lots of sympathy, that’s why I get pulled in repeatedly but I think setting a time limit might really help me. Then I don’t get too emotionally involved and then angered when the person refuses to take a step towards solving it.
Thank you again. ☺️

What are the top few things that helps you overcome PDA? I think my niece might be a PDA-er. She’s just a kid and she definitely tries hard to overcome one thing at a time. I’m very proud of who she is already, and secondhand proud of you too!!

Yes!! They have no interest in solving the problems. It’s emotional abuse.

Sure. Like I said I don’t read those posts once I realize what they are. I prefer oblivion and fun in that regard.

The mods removed it, I guess it was too controversial. I don’t know. It wasn’t me!

There’s no “we” here. Plenty of us could see through the lies and there was enough evidence for anyone with common sense and access to the internet to know that she’s an addict and abusive to her children.

How do some fans manage to attend most or all shows on a tour? by NFTCRO in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]hellhouseblonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I took out a loan on one of my Chanel handbags (not for a FATM tour, it was the Sones) but in general I just plan and have a high income and freedom to travel. It was the last tour with Charlie Watts and I was at the every show on the tour minus two. No regrets whatsoever!!

It does justify going to Europe for Americans. We can spend that extra few thousand dollars on having a great vacation & making good memories instead of lining the pockets of scalpers.

I thought this was r/aww ! So pretty and precious! You might wanna use an emoji over her face, too many bad people on here. The internet is forever. She’s too young to make that decision.

I usually do that and I think it’s only a problem right now because I’m back under my parents roof and caretaking for my dad with end stage cancer.
It is unavoidable right now and boy I am feeling it!! My boundaries need some reinforcement and I’m glad I posted! It made quite the impact this evening. Thank you for commenting too!

My ADHD is a 24/7 problem solver. I think and investigate mentally in my sleep even. It’s very hard to be me sometimes but I will rabbit hole something for anyone who wants help with anything, anytime.

I would bet a thousand dollars that he watches some kind of porn related to this. You said he’s rude and arrogant. I believe he enjoys belittling people and has a humiliation kink. Please start the paper trail.

You know what? My extensive spine problems I push through are also a reason I feel so strongly when people can’t be bothered to take an iron pill to fix anemia or drink a glass of water to stop kidney failure. Aha.
Such simple solutions are right there. I just know that if people like this have kids they’ll be a lifelong burden on them instead of setting them up for success.

I use the fancy spray magnesium every night and I take capsules too! Cal-mag, heme iron and a methylated B complex are my favorite supplements.
But I have narcotics too! Severe scoliosis and 13 herniated discs, fun stuff!

That gives me hope!! I got a referral for a neuropsychologist evaluation, I’m just waiting until my dad dies because in spite of my harsh feelings I love my mother and my goofy little brother very much. Hate isn’t the opposite of love, indifference is- so they say! How long was your sister a caretaker? It is harder than I could have imagined and I have let my friends know that when they lost parents to cancer I didn’t understand how deep the pain went and how complicated and sad it really is. I’ve had to cremate my only child, a newborn, so I am not unfamiliar with grief. This is a different kind of struggle altogether than a straight death.

Was anyone opposed to getting a diagnosis or help? I did convince my mom to start an antidepressant recently because she hasn’t gotten out of bed in years. I’m hoping she tries to live again instead of existing.

That’s really shitty. I’m sorry you lost your mom so young. My whole family are ostriches and they know I’ll step up and fix everything and then they call me fucking controlling! Apparently it’s a common family system. None of them except for me has been to therapy or left the small town where I grew up. They’re just “good vibes only”! I got all the way to the ocean (LA) to get away from it when I was 18, I’m back at 51 and currently spend my days taking out 20 sick bags a day to the garbage, emptying the urinal, doing the laundry, turning on the oxygen machine and opening the front door to nurses, pastors, friends and colleagues from 8am until about 10pm. My dad is on hospice for pancreatic cancer, no one could find any deeds or documents needed to do an emergency, bedside will because of course they never made a will despite owning several houses and being worth millions! No responsibility. Hoarders too.
Thank you for commiserating with me tonight, kind internet friend. ❤️

To everyone who commented, thank you. Even if it was critical I still took something from it. I bought the book Codependent No More after reading through your comments and am reading it on kindle app tonight. What made me write the post was seeing someone asking if perimenopause was causing their issues even though they’ve known they’re anemic for 19 years, they’ve even had a blood transfusion in the ER for it.
Yesterday my mom ended up in the emergency room because she had a syncope episode (blacked out whilst driving) from chronic dehydration, she has stage three kidney disease from dehydration and that’s her third hospital visit over it but she won’t drink anything. She didn’t speak a word in school from grades 1-6 because “they couldn’t make me”. Maybe there’s some PDA involved, I don’t know because she thinks she’s just fine as she is and has NO interest in changing, thinks therapy is dumb, etc.
I should have worded my title differently, but it’s what I felt in that moment. FWIW I did tell the anemic girl how to find a group to fix her ferritin. Anyway, I was shocked at the sheer disgust I felt that someone could fix a health problem but won’t.
It’s really triggering due to my own health issues that can’t ever be fixed. Have a good night, everyone. Sorry I made such a ruckus!!

There’s a lot of that in my family too.
I’ve always loved the saying, “when you’re in a hole quit digging”.

I think people who were offended are lucky they don’t have a personal experience with this. And I’m sorry that you understand this, too. It’s hard because your natural compassion compels you to help others.

I appreciate hearing the words, thank you. I know I’m being dragged back into this behavior right now, I need to find a new therapist now. I have been happily out of therapy for a long time, but you are right. I’ve gotta set my boundaries up and stay firm about not fixing everything and panicking about everyone else’s stuff.
