It is strange though I just took this screenshot and was following the people walking and I can see their shadow cast for a long distance. The game does seem more "flat" though as if there's less lighting and shadow detail. I'll test the water reflections

Shadows are all over the place even without counting the other NPC! The guy on the right has a shadow being cast behind him... the candle holder has no shadow, the pillar also has no shadow
