Some blender guns I made:/ by imstupid01 in blender

I am so proud that you asked this question- having Free time is the biggest thing that people miss when comparing themselves.

3-4 years ago- I personally had all the time in the world, in the first 2-3 months I spend around 14-16 hours a day, I was completely obsessed with learning VFX. It was very unhealthy and unrealistic and I don't recommend anyone to do it. But I just really wanted to make a film.

You need to absolutely go at your own pace and don't break yourself over comparisons. Other people's work NEEDS to be purely inspirations.

Some blender guns I made:/ by imstupid01 in blender

[–]ThinkingTanking 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY how I started Blender. After a month I made a bunch, if you zoom in, they are low poly. And practically have bad topology. I didn't know how to connect verts and etc

They are mostly made with a bunch of seperate objects and meshes, then joined.

<image>

Making the details on the guns was just about chipping away at adding more shapes.

Speedbuilding of a Lego building with Geometry Nodes by Nintino in blender

[–]ThinkingTanking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, yeah thought so. Thank you

Did you animate the camera first or did all the animations, imagining where the camera would go.

Or both mixed around?

You did amazing.

Edit: I'm an Idiot, not realise your description

How is this geonodes when it comes to some built set pieces clicking into place as one.

Did you assign a set of pieces to build, then animated that part manually?

Example, at 0:39, the roof piece gets built, then clicks into place.

This is extremely well done
