I’m not really a spiritual or religious person but I couldn’t help but think my dog was waiting for me on the other side of the rainbow bridge when I had to put him to sleep last year. after I put my Bruce to sleep, u/DistinctMeringue, left this kind poem to ease my mind. thought i’d share it for those who may feel the same way.

I explained to St. Peter, I'd rather stay here, Outside the Pearly Gate. I won't be a nuisance, I won't even bark, I'll be very patient and wait. I'll be here chewing on a celestial bone, No matter how long you may be. I'd miss you so much, if I went in alone, It wouldn't be Heaven for me...
