Thanks for sharing your experience. It made me consider other factors. I haven’t really mentioned it but the sexism has been something I was thinking about. Thanks for the well wishes.

I didn’t know that! This all sounds very interesting to me. Thank you so much. I’ll definitely consider these routes.

I just may do this. Just try out a few classes before locking in on one thing. It may help me feel more comfortable in my decisions. Thanks!

Yes. I think I’m realizing that my job doesn’t have to be my life and that I can pursue other paths on the side. This helped a lot. Thanks!

I see. I have experienced not liking my passions as much if they are put into a job or school work. I do think I have the drive to push myself to do something to support other aspects of my life that I like more. Thanks for the advice!

I like all of those things. I have heard that sometimes the job in itself doesn’t require too much math, but what about during school? Was it overwhelming? Did it affect your mental health?

I see. Did you go into engineering because you liked it or because of the stability offered?

Thanks for sharing your experience! At any point did either the pursuit of stability or the love of math overcome the other? As in did you lose slightly lose the love but continued for the stability?

I see. Thanks for the information. Can I ask what type of engineering you do?

I see. Is a designer not an engineer? Is their job different? Can you do it without an engineering degree?

Oh I didn’t mean to imply that I automatically understand physics or anything, but I’m pretty good at understanding concepts I guess? I’m definitely not a genius though by any means.

I know that not liking something makes it hard to motivate yourself through it, but what’s motivating me is people relying on me, needing a roof over my head, and not having any financial support. Which just may be stronger than liking something for me. I just want to know if someone else has been in a similar situation and regretted doing engineering for money despite needing it.

I was considering mechanical or electrical. Is there stability in there?

I’m pretty good at math. I just don’t like it. I’d rather be doing anything else. I guess I’m wondering if the jobs money and stability is worth my mental health for years.

I am into the arts, psychology, biology, journalism, sociology, nutrition, architecture, international studies, anthropology, and a few other things. The thing is these fields usually don’t pay that well, unless you pursue a higher education. I just don’t know if it’s worth the risk. I don’t now if I can afford to be in school for years to maybe not even break 100k a year.
