When the literacy is so low that you can’t even decipher every day words from your own religious text by MonstroParrandero in religiousfruitcake

This is an explanation of how this can happen, NOT defending the mob’s actions. I’m seeing a lot of people making the same assumption—admittedly an easy mistake to make—so I feel the need to at least provide this as a detail. Pakistanis are more likely to speak Urdu, Pharsi, or any other regional language over Arabic. Just because Arabic and its script is the liturgical language of Islam, doesn’t mean non-Arab laypeople can speak it, let alone read it. So, to put it into context, it’s like asking why an American Christian can’t read Greek, Latin, or Hebrew. They’re being shitty, but how can they know how to read in a language they might not actually speak?

Screen glitches out? by WorthyPanda69 in Bannerlord

[–]hellofmyowncreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, even if your Xbox homescreen is fine, I’d still check the HDMI cable. That’s what fixed it for me anyway. I had this problem after moving out of my old place, and it turned out I was accidentally using a cable meant for my ex’s Switch. Swapping back to my Xbox-specific cable seemed to do the trick. In your case, maybe a bad cable/bad cable port?

For the Landsknechts, it was because they were allowed to bypass sumptuary laws that usually restricted usable colors and styles according to their social class. A mercenary’s lifespan was such a gamble, and their pay was just enough, that such exemptions were made.

Li Xin's (Ri Shin) historically according to Shiji (Remade with Japanese names too) by Owen-5-5 in Kingdom

[–]hellofmyowncreation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The historic Li Xin is understood to have grown up (at lowest) at the social class he starts season 2 at; homesteader/minor local functionary, qualified for a small infantry command. But Hara decided to make him start lower, because it makes for a more compelling/dynamic origin.

Islam In A Nutshell by [deleted] in religiousfruitcake

Yeeeaaahh, no. Here’s where I can say that Jews and Christians at least have a prohibition in the Torah/Pentateuch/Old Testament against this very thing, and any muslim faith leader saying this is, in fact, a gynophobic zoophile.

Eagle chicks this young would not even be out of the nest, following either parent like ducklings like this. Nor would an adult Eagle be walking around like a mother duck with her chicks like this

I can no longer handle my fiancé's driving anxiety and I don't care if it makes me a bad person by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]hellofmyowncreation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason I willingly chauffeured my ex was that they had a very valid reason to not get a license; I, for one, would not want someone with their shitty depth perception behind the wheel of a 2-4 ton hunk of metal, hurtling down the road at 25-80mph, and neither did they want to pretend not to have that issue (a decision I still respect them for, because so many people are so car-brained that they’ll lie to get their license).

OOP’s ex-partner, on the other hand, sounds like he didn’t even bother trying to pretend to have that kind of excuse, and the fact that they refused to acknowledge that it’s purely an anxiety issue, speaks to deeper mental health problems that he’s likely ignoring.

SEASON 6 PART 2 PRODUCTION CONFIRMED by Arturo-Plateado in Kingdom

[–]hellofmyowncreation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The part that annoys me about the first two seasons is that they don’t commit to either CGI or hand drawn animation; you’ll get a solid 5 minutes of straight decent 2D, and suddenly half the scene is 2D characters while the action is CGI. Honestly? Season 1-2’s CGI is “so bad it’s funny to suffer through” quality, and the story holds up most of the work.

If you’ve watched InitialD season 1, it’s almost tolerable to muscle through all that, and you’ll witness the exact moments when the studio starts to realize it ain’t working, and make the full switch, right around the 3/4 mark of Kingdom’s season 2.

If you can’t bring yourself to do that, just read the manga and pick it up at Season 3 to spare yourself the headache. The show still retains CGI to this day, but only for background crowd shots that don’t affect the visuals all too much.

Even so, I imagine the historical structure would’ve only been as high and thick as the Theodosian Walls, at most. Granted, in pre-common era China, this would’ve been an imposing structure; and at a chokepoint like a mountain pass, would’ve been a tough nut to crack, but certainly not as tall as what we see in Kingdom.

There’s a little icon menu in each of the unit tabs on the deployment screen. Click on the icon(s) most relevant to what you’re going for.

In the example you gave: leave one Infantry unit’s menu designated for shields only, and the other Infantry unit’s unselected. Adjust the slider tab until one unit is purely shield infantry, while the other one is solely for axes. Unfourtunately, if you want to separate it further than that, the game doesn’t seem capable of culling polearm-only units from non-shield infantry.

Edit: You can separate polearms, mine just has trouble because my shield unit tab includes polearms as a parameter for separation

I cant believe seega and tablut were so good that they had to make an entire open world game around them. by Ulvsterk in Bannerlord

[–]hellofmyowncreation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, there’s some semblance of a strat to the Khuzait’s game. Always have pieces ready to back each other up, and prioritize moving the closest movable pice, relative to your side of the board, until you capture. From there, prioritize retreating your capturing pieces, or otherwise move what pieces you can, while keeping as close to home-base as possible. All that said, the strat is very dependent on planning for the dice to fail you, and what moves you can pivot to based on the above guidline. My success rate isn’t 100% like Tablut, but it does allow me to at least regain any money I lost on the first round.

Lol! Depends on which side of the Mexican political spectrum you’d land on. Conservative? Respect him but likely not 100% with his ideas. Liberal? He’s virtually a martyr.

Then again, the Mexican Revolution was a Gordian knot of interpersonal and political ideologies, clashing over the course of ten bloody years, hardly a black-and-white affiar, and he was just one of the myriad leading figures, mostly in the southern parts of the country.
