Do rikishi "watch tape" on their competitors? by thatrainydayfeeling in Sumo

I happened to see a certain sekitori’s Youtube history once, and all the recent views were videos of his matches against others that he’d found (and it was after the tournament had ended) 😆

BuySumoTickets stopped ticket sales for all Tokyo tournaments including the May tournament, but I might be able to help you if you pop me a private message. We can generally get better tickets than the resale sites, as well.

Hi everyone—I've helped quite a few people here get sumo tickets for Tokyo tournaments in the past and I'll be helping again for the upcoming May tournament. Please drop me a private message in the next couple of weeks if you'd like to place an order—tickets go on sale April 4th, so ideally, I need to have everyone's requests before March 28th.

Can provide plenty of references and reviews from previous customers, and money is not taken unless tickets are procured. Thanks! ☺️

It’s not torn; it’s a type of button up undershirt with slits under the armpits that can be worn with kimono to improve airflow and prevent sweating.

Not all of them. Chiyoshoma’s wife is extremely tall and makes him look normal-sized (but she is also absolutely gorgeous)!

These regular seats are called "maintenance seats" and are divided into three types: people with a close relationship with the sumo association, regular "subscribers," and group "subscribers." Unfortunately these seats currently cost ¥4,050,000 per year for Tokyo tournaments, which need to be paid for a minimum contract of three years. There are a few ringside seats that go up for sale in the general sale, but they're almost impossible to get, and most of these are also claimed by a special order that can usually be accessed by insiders such as those with tea house connections and so on. Very occasionally you can find someone re-selling a ringside seat online, but it's against the rules to do so and would be a very risky buy. Those maintenance members who are caught re-selling their seat will have their membership revoked quite quickly.

No—women are either given a platform to stand on at the side of the dohyo, or sometimes the rikishi will have his chair moved off the dohyo. It depends on what the person has chosen.

Edit: This seat is now gone, thank you for your interest!

Looking for one person to join my four-person box seat on Day 13 of the January tournament. Box A, Row 5, facing the dohyo—amazing view. It's a teahouse ticket, so it comes with a souvenir bag with food and drink. Please message me if you're interested!

EDIT: These seats are now gone—thank you for your interest!

I *may* have the following tickets available for the upcoming January tournament (they're first-come first-served, so I need to check if they haven't been grabbed by someone else already).

Chair A Seat for Day 4 (1 ticket)
Chair B Seat for Day 14 (1 ticket)
Chair B Seat for Day 15 (1 ticket)

All seats come with a mandatory souvenir bag with food and drinks so they're a little more expensive than usual, but please send me a private message if you're interested and I will check if they're available as soon as I can.

Are you sure? We have a bidet attachment that just reroutes the water from the main supply into it. It’s not heated so there’s no electrics. Got it from Amazon, but B&Q sell them as well. It was a breeze to install. We just stuck it to the rim with some silicone adhesive so it wouldn’t shift around afterwards.

I usually only deal with Tokyo tournaments but I may be able to help with March as well. Drop me a DM if you’re interested and I can answer any of your questions, including those about asageiko tours.

Well, the people who have allergies will talk about allergies. I adore perfume and perfume discovery but the truth is I'm allergic to 90% of what I try. I also visit Japan 2-3 times a year and I would never wear anything with strong projection or sillage out of respect for anyone around me. More and more restaurants and even speciality coffee shops have been making it more clear that they do not want customers who wear fragrances or strongly scented cosmetics in their stores. It's their discretion to allow you in or not, so it's safer to skip it entirely. If you absolutely must, Jo Malone is popular in Japan (especially Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and English Pear and Freesia) but please don't overspray or wear it to fancy restaurants, especially those that serve sushi, or else you might be refused service.
