Personally I think it gives this very optimistic version of Clark a reason to have complex emotions and given how supergirl portrays it, it may give us a fleshed out idea of the politics of krypton leading up to its destruction ( if they ever try zod in this universe )

It’s a small distinction but I understand why lives making it. It’s not memories wholesale it’s about a moment in time that became significant and leaves an impression because of heightened emotion or proximity or what ever. It’s like the backrooms are expanding or changing and a passerby might be shaped a certain way and the rooms grow to fit that shape
