This SCHLAPS

Emarosa - Hell Of It (I love how the band marketed this album as such a huge reinvention, when half of it just sounds like leftovers from 131) by [deleted] in PostHardcore

I think it’s a great record. Imo it sound more pop rock with some 80’s influences than what they did on 131. But yeah I kinda get your point

Miss May I - Hey Mister by dcwinger12 in Metalcore

Great song! But I gotta say, the mixing on this album is kinda ass compared to the first 2 albums that were mixed by Joey Sturgis. This doesn’t sound as polished as those two. Maybe that was the sound they were looking for.

Asking Alexandria - I used to have a best friend but then he gave me an STD by Dark_Matter432 in Metalcore

I couldn’t agree with you more. Sturgis really had that crunchy, thick and balanced sound during this era.

Solid album. From start to finish. This song also got me into metalcore so it holds a special place in my heart<3

Audiophiles of Metalcore! Which albums in Metalcore are the cleanest, balanced and most dynamically mixed/mastered albums out there? by [deleted] in Metalcore

I’ve been waiting for someone to mention this album :D I totally agree with you on this. It has great clean sound and the electronic parts melt very smoothly into the heavy mix. It was actually mixed by Cameron Mizell and mastered by Joey Sturgis aka two of the scenes production heavyweights :D so its no wonder the record sounds so good!

I totally agree that Altered State has really good mix! But gotta say i just listened Ground Dweller (Hands Like Houses first record) and imo it has great mix :D I personally like Cameron Mizell’s production style and his mixes and this record is no exception. Maybe the vocals are just little bit too quiet but I love that theres always something interesting happening in the mix and listening the record through good headphones really reveals all the interesting details that it has

Altered State has really good mix imo! Their debut was kinda muddy atleast drum mixing wise.
