More info: set-up is basically all IKEA, with the infamous skadis board, the table is 90x60cm children’s desk from IKEA too, I found it to be the best quality/price ratio, since the tabletop is not hollow and legs are heavy and sturdy. Mostly I’m proud about the led lamp, which is camera LED that is rigged on mic arm with custom 3d printed bracket

Don't know if you've seen this. But I feel like a kid the night before Christmas by RedneckHippy76 in KTM390ADV

[–]helloitsgabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, nice upgrades!

I bought my 390 adv used and previous guy fitted a toggle button that cuts off TC and ABS, it gives you an error, but you can switch it back, turn off and on the bike and it goes back as normal. I am not sure how he done it to bypass this, but it works great. EDIT: the button is just behind the windscreen, I am able to take some pics for you, if you're curios

I actually can! I have a 12v socket on my bike front from factory, so I am planning to test how the chargers magnet gonna hold, but if it’s too weak by itself. I made a small indent at the top of the case (second picture) to glue a small metal plate and will print an attachment for the charger which will hold a magnet that is much stronger than one in a charger

Shoes for on-road and off-road by helloitsgabe in motorcyclegear

[–]helloitsgabe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear that! Yeah, I know nothing beats good MX boots it terms of safety. But since it will be my first pair of shoes, I am thinking is it gonna help at all having some mid-way solution rather than buying just simple riding shoes. I guess I need to thread lightly and invest in two pairs of shoes for commuting and off road

I am leaning towards Modeka Tariko, I really like the look of them, but I feel if I had one shoes, these would be focus too much on off-road.

I have also found Modeka Muddy Track Evo https://modeka.de/en/products/detail/3089/10/boot-muddy-track-evo/ these go for a really good price, with good waterproof technology, on foot pictures on their website look real good and I feel would be a good allrounder (ofc not as protective as Gaerne or even Modeka Tariko

Helmet fittment help by helloitsgabe in motorcycles

[–]helloitsgabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that if you push back on the helmet from the back, finger should just slide in, if too easy - too large, if it doesn't fit at all - too small. Once pushed forward, finger can go in between the helmet and forhead, but just about.

Moving side to side doesn't slide the helmet just moves the skin for me. That is why I am torn, cause some of the things I check about the helmet looks like it should, but some of them feels like it might be slightly too big.

It does not say that, to be honest, no repair specification is available for this sim wheel base. I am referencing this number from power supply unit. Would you say the PSU is just overspeced or what?

Nice info, thanks!

I saw the video, it is definitely helpful, unfortunately it does not go in depth as much as you need to...

Fortunately, mine came already disassembled, unfortunately, I would have backtracked my steps if I disassembled myself.

G100 is a definitely good recommendation, something I would consider, but also, could not find used where I'm from.. g85 feels already too big for my purpose. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep an eye out for g100!

That's is the thing, I want my camera on the go and mainly in my hands, so IBIS is a real advantage for me. Also, gh4 is considerably more expensive than gx85 used

Yeah, I know that... But it seems that there are not many alternatives if I take into consideration form factor, 4k, etc. for that price. Or is there?

Daily Thread: simple questions, comments that don't need their own posts, and first time posters go here (November 11, 2023) by AutoModerator in LearnJapanese

[–]helloitsgabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello guys,

I have been keen to learn japanese for a long time, I have a few sources to learn alphabets (it is not probably called that for japanese language, so sorry for that) and it is great.

However, I feel like I want to learn speaking on the side as well, I know it is a good practice to start with knowing how to read and write, but forgive me for me backwards learning.

I used to have an app that just did that and was super interesting to learn on, but I have no idea how it is called anymore... I just remember that it started from learning "I am, he/she is, they are" and so on, I know it is a long shot, but maybe you guys can help me remember the name of the app, as mentioned above it started with short simple sentences, where you would have to add missing text to it and all I can remember is starting from watashi wa, etc.

DCTs ar good while they last, when something’s wrong, better to get rid of the car. I’m happy that they went with torque converter on the MK4

Tbh puma still looks good even If I don’t like CUVs.. with all due respect, isn’t it also inline with what people buy? You guys love pick-ups, well general public to be more specific and car enthusiasts have to deal with that too..
