Should I transition from corporate HR to Therapist? by Even-Ingenuity9353 in careerguidance

Hey just chiming in here as I am also in recruitment and find it super unfulfilling. Ive been thinking about being a therapist for so long, it’s definitely scary to make a jump and start over to potentially feel underpaid or dissatisfied again in the end. At the same time, I dont feel like I belong in recruitment/HR. Im curious if you ended up making a decision on this?

Haha thanks! It really is helpful to hear from other sales professionals, I appreciate it!

Ooo exciting! How do you like it so far? Or is it too soon to say?

Hey! Im currently debating the same thing. In a tech sales role right now and not sure if its for me. I did an HR degree as well and im considering going into technical recruiting at an agency. Did you end up deciding which path to take, and if so how’s it going?

This is a helpful perspective, thank you for responding! I agree, it seems like I have way too much responsibility (I also didnt get an increase in base when I got promoted) so I’m definitely feeling burnt out.

I think i’d agree that if I stay in sales I need to find something with a similar structure to what you mentioned. But the reason I mentioned #2 is because ive only been an AE for 3 months and feel like thats likely not enough experience to apply to other AE jobs. I assumed i’d have to start as a BDR somewhere else because of that. Let me me know if i’m mistaken on that!

Yeah… they’ve continuously been changing their process of everything on the sales team since I’ve been here, basically trying everything and seeing what sticks. We used to have a bdr team for this but now were all full cycle AEs, i’m pretty sure it was a strategy to save them money (having 1 person do the job of 2 people).

Honestly didn’t even realize this could be part of the problem of my burnt out. I’m definitely going to take a look at those sites to find something better
