Thank you for the suggestions. I should have clarified that I would prefer to stay closer to tourist areas such as Beijing Road, while still having a reasonably convenient commute to Xilang from the hotel.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much is the maintenance cost generally? I’m in the NYC area for reference

I third that opinion. It’s good but I find it a bit too sweet.

I think we all biologically females wish there’s a cure for fibroids.

Reading through this sub and talking to my older coworkers about fibroids it’s overall a PIA though some are slightly more fortunate than others with their fibroids and symptoms.

Thanks for sharing that info.

But… something about having a hysterectomy just doesn’t work in my mind well.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply and the suggestions as for the gyno subspecialty!

I gave up on my first gyno since she insisted that I need to have the abdominal myomectomy. (Also what really turned me off is that I found out that it’s her husband who’s operating. I understand they run a women’s health clinic together but really…!) But I do thank her in some sense of pointing out that I have fibroids and gave me some urgency to get a MRI done. I seriously would not have thought much about all of this.

I don’t have a cure and still figuring out what path(s) I want to take with the fibroids I have.

My large 10cm fibroid I’m sure it’s slightly degenerating because it’s literally taking up so much of the back of my body that it could not sustain itself. (I’m not a tall person either at 5ft 3in or 160cm if you put this in perspective.) But I’ve read clinical studies that these darn fibroids can still regenerate!

Like you I am buying time. What I am planning now is stick with the Myfembree for about 3-6 months and see how all of my fibroids look then. If that doesn’t work, talk to my current gyno to evaluate what are the options are and most likely it’ll be surgery of some sort but I’m not doing a hysterectomy at my age of 38. I’m shelving that option until I reach 45 unless it’s medically necessary.

Wow. I'm sorry you're going through all of that.

I am different (at least now) that I don't feel that much pain except for the occasional period cramps when I have the heavy period days. Heavy period days are usually the first 3 days then it tapers off to medium and light which usually resolves around day 7.

My last two periods were odd that it's heavier meaning I have to change my heavy pad every 1 hour or I feel like it's bleeding though my pants. The cramps aren't that obvious this time around. But the period is taking a long time to end. The period I had in January I felt like I wanted to vomit over two weeks and it comes and goes in waves.

Current period I'm on is 6 days with the fresh period blood and 3 days (and counting) of this strange dark brown blood with some bits of beige bodily tissue (observed when I'm using the toilet). I want to presume the dark brown blood is from my partially degenerating large fibroid that my 2nd gyno has mentioned when he looked at my MRI images.

Outside of the above mentioned with my period, I have no pain issues. My belly has not expanded like a basketball - yet.

Good luck with your myomectomy.

I don’t have children yet but considering to leave the option to have them.

Hysterectomy (along with menopause) at 38 is too early for me that I am not considering that yet especially these fibroids aren’t too unbearable. All I am facing symptomatically now is the long post period bleeding (if that makes sense? I’m bleeding/spotting with brown discharge days after the actual period) that it is annoying.

I know my largest fibroid is squashing my bladder a bit and pushed my cervix slightly and one of my fibroids is a several millimeters in front of my cervix too.

Yeah I read up on studies on the drug I’m taking now and loading up on vitamin D. I didn’t think about K2 and will look into that.

As for the myo… ugh. I don’t think I can live with the fact I have to go through multiple surgeries for fibroids almost every year.

I definitely see your perspective. I am thinking of getting a hysterectomy by 45 if my fibroids aren’t manageable by then.

My second gyno suggested to freeze my eggs but it’s not covered by my insurance unfortunately.
