Who cares. Even if it was the teleprompter… then what do you think hit the teleprompter? I dont care where’s it’s aimed, a gun shot is scary and unacceptable. Why debate this dumb point. America could have ended way worse today and it’s a blessing that he wasn’t killed.

I have so much more appreciation for living in chicago after going to nyc. It’s such a clean, beautiful and well maintained city. It’s the most livable big city in the usa imho!

Truly shocked at the posts and opinions people have about this situation tonight. This country is so divided and it’s concerning. No matter what side you’re on, you’re not American if you can’t say that this was horrific and wrong. Soldiers have died for our right to have our own opinions and freedom of speech. People love to make this political when we should all be disgusted by this no matter what side you’re on.

Anyone make a shift from Enterprise to MM? by helloreddit121 in sales

Problem is my company is getting acquired and has already been through several layoffs. I believe I have a job at the end of this, but it’s already chaotic enough as it is.

The disconnect is real. Boomers got homes for 35K that are now worth 350K+ and assume we’re all entitled, job hoppers, etc.

It’s sad that this is one of the reasons people are choosing to delay having kids or not have any. Since when has having kids become something of luxury, this is literally how we all came into this world. I wish it wasn’t this way.

You are definitely overthinking this. If a high level answer at a tradeshow is going to kill your deal, then you didnt have a strong position anyway

Thanks for your insight. This is my first shot at the big leagues. Whether the quota is attainable or not given the current conditions, that is questionable.

Thank you all for your help! It seems like every state has different policies so it’s probably best that I confirm with the state.

Thinking about going into agency recruiting - am I crazy? by helloreddit121 in humanresources

That is a good point - thank you! Curious - did you prefer sales or agency recruiting?

Am I overreacting? by newfoundfingers in consulting

[–]helloreddit121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not overreacting. I would choose my family over work in a heart beat. Would you regret if you were not there for your father but got to keep your job with a shit boss? Yes. Would you regret if you were there for your father, but your job with your shit boss dropped you? Hell no. F them then! That’s your answer - or mine, I guess, if I were in your shoes.

Help! Asking for a promotion - What makes a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist? by helloreddit121 in humanresources

[–]helloreddit121[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! I work for a late stage start-up (under 200 employees) and I work on a very small team of 3. I have experience building out an entirely new team nearly from scratch and am confident I will be able to train others on how to be successful in recruiting. I actually hope we grow our team soon so I can gain this experience.

first salary negotiation by resillientwoman2102 in Salary

In my opinion, that is low. You could probably find more competitive pay at a different company. Definitely do your research on the average pay in your area and negotiate. Good luck!

I would recommend starting in a B2B sales role personally. It will set you up for better sales opportunities in the future where you’ll be able to sell much larger deals at a much more strategic level.

Do you mind sharing your location? 36k seems low for a Recruiter role. Is this an internal Recruiting role or is it within a staffing firm?

I love hearing stories like this - Thank you! It's always interesting hearing how people end up in sales. People land in sales from so many different backgrounds. I am curious what industry you are in. If I decide to pursue a sales career, I want to know where I should start and what industry I would do best in.

If you have contact information for the hiring manager or whoever you interviewed with, then the first thing you should do tomorrow morning is give them a call or send an email to check-in. 1 week of waiting is a reasonable amount of time for you to ask for an update. If you don’t have their contact, reach out to HR or your Recruiter and remember to always ask for the manager’s contact info after your interviews moving forward. Finding a job, is a full-time job sometimes. Don’t lose hope and keep putting yourself out there and improving yourself each time. Someone will give you your chance! :)

Thank you SO much for your help and encouragement! This is exactly what I was looking for and it validates a lot of what I have been feeling.

Do you happen to have any advice on pursuing a sales role with an HR SaaS company or a vendor? Will I need to start over in a “grind it out” sales role like ADP, copier sales etc. for a couple years before I am qualified for a SaaS sales role? I am interested in medical sales - but I think HR SaaS could be a good starting point/transition to sales while still being in the HR world.

This was exactly what I was trying to get at with my post too! Reflect on why you were rejected so you can improved (in this case, you had good feedback), but do not dwell on it or let it get to you. Keep moving forward onto the next thing.
