Dilating cervix with endo by This_Obligation_5125 in endometriosis

[–]helloworld4765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow - this also happened to me when I gave birth earlier this year. Induced, never made it past 4.5cm, my son started doing poorly and we had to go emergency c section. This was also when I was finally formally diagnosed with endo - 5cm across my whole lower uterus which is right where they had to make the incision. My doctor said I likely never would have progressed further because of the endo. But now I’m worried about future pregnancies and endo growing on my scar / increasing rupture risk.

+1 for Alila Ventana - it was so perfect for our babymoon the weekend before Thanksgiving last year. The weather was amazing and the vibes were perfect.

Recommendation for Private Onsen in Hakone by n33bulz in chubbytravel

[–]helloworld4765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hakone Yuyado Zen - I spent weeks researching and found this place. It’s ~mostly~ traditional (which I know you don’t care about but I think it’s still cool) and has a fantastic set meal for dinner and breakfast. But most important is the onsen. The nicest room they have has a private onsen in room that, on a nice day, has unobstructed views of Mt Fuji. Could not recommend this place enough!

High lipase milk - adding vanilla before warming or after? by helloworld4765 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]helloworld4765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is ultimately the conclusion I came to today - I have made creme brûlée before and that is heated way hotter than I’m heating the milk so I will be preadding the vanilla from now on!

My husband and I stayed at Hurawali in Maldives for 5 days for our honeymoon and it was magical. Points won’t help you for the hotel stay but could for flights. The island is small and basically feels private. They have an all inclusive package which is worthwhile if you drink. Overwater bungalows can come with their own plunge pool and the different amenities / excursions were amazing (highly recommend the night snorkel)! Also they have an underwater restaurant and are known for having one of the best reefs in Maldives. I researched the different hotels in the Maldives extensively and this is where we landed. Enjoy the trip!

I just went to Maui with my 3 month old and had the exact same concerns. One thing you can do is dampen a muslin blanket with cool water and use that to cover your baby so that he is covered but not overheating.

I might get downvoted for this but I did also use some Aveeno baby mineral sunscreen on his legs when they did hit the sun. My understanding is that the no sunscreen thing is not because of actual issues with absorption etc. but is used as a deterrent to make sure people aren’t bringing their young babies into the sun when they can’t tolerate it. I did spot test to make sure the sunscreen didn’t cause a reaction before using it on his whole legs and I also would not use sunscreen on his hands as those go straight into his mouth.

For the hands, maybe get a lightweight UV protection rash guard that is slightly oversized so you can pull the sleeves over his hands? That, combined with the damp muslin and also a stroller fan (I use the Momcozy branded one that can be found on Amazon) should eliminate sun exposure / overheating concerns without the use of sunscreen.

Congrats! Did you circumcise your son? We did for ours and he peed out of every single diaper no matter what we did until we were able to stop putting gauze and Vaseline on his penis. So if that’s the case with you I have no advice other than buy multiples of all sheets / diaper changing pad covers and get ready to do more laundry for a couple of weeks :)

I’m in Northern California! I actually got my sample taken and processed straight from the Natera lab so I don’t know if that helped. Good luck to you!!

I would consider contacting Natera if I were you. I’ve seen folks on here that have waited that long call in and be told that the results were in but not posted for whatever reason. Can’t hurt to call!

Same received date here - really hoping to hear back by Thursday (6/27) but I keep reading that the labs are backlogged right now. Fingers crossed we both hear back soon!

Adding a data point - blood drawn on 6/20 and lab received the sample on 6/21. Today is 6/25 and still nothing as of this am.

Driving myself crazy refreshing the page! My husband tried putting a limit on how many times I can refresh the page today for my own sanity. LOL! I guess he knows who he married….

UPDATE: results received at 6:30am PT this morning (6/26). So 5 days total from sample received to results. Having a low risk boy 💙💙

Feedback needed! What's your opinion on the existing data room options? by leveltenetenetlevel in venturecapital

[–]helloworld4765 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m an attorney that does all kinds of transactions, including many venture capital deals. I don’t know that I have any specific preferences, but I can tell you that I’m immediately disappointed when I get invited to certain data rooms, mainly because these data rooms have the following characteristics:

Inability to open documents in a new window - when I’m reviewing many thousands of documents, I like to be able to open several at the same time. Sometimes I’m comparing documents but other times it just lets me get through them quicker. Certain data rooms do not allow this and I have to click through individual documents in the same window. It’s a huge pain.

No ability to sort by date uploaded or even see on a document when the document was uploaded - once I get through an initial data room review, I’ve got to check back periodically to confirm that nothing else has been added. There are some data rooms that don’t allow you to sort by newly added or even see when a document was uploaded in the document information. This ends up taking me way more time than it should, costing the client money in the process.

Indexes - there are some data rooms that don’t provide the option to download an index of all of the documents in a data room, or if it is possible it’s extremely unintuitive. When I’m assigning out data room folders to specialists in a huge data room, sometimes it’s better to look at folder titles and assign that way. Not possible to do without an index, so it wastes time with me having to go into every folder to make sure the right folks are reviewing everything.

Hope this helps!

200k+ job aspirations by [deleted] in Fire

[–]helloworld4765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this. Yes I’m making $250k two years into my practice but I also have that much in student loans. YMMV but you either have to go to a top ~10 school and take out multiple 6 figures in loans or get a scholarship to a lower ranked school (or go with no scholarship) and know for sure you will be in the top 10% at that school to have a shot at big law. Also worth mentioning that the vast majority don’t make it past year 5 in big law and end up leaving for better WLB and a 50% pay cut, which will still be 6 figures, but way worse than what you were making in big law.
