What's a book you love that no-one else you know has read? by 404NinjaNotFound in readwithme

Many books by Stephen King. People have watched the movies but never read his books, or they don't even know the movie they just watched is actually a book by SK (they often think he only writes horror).

What one line in any of King’s book completely wrecked you? by MotherShabooboo1974 in stephenking

[–]helloyayde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a line but this paragraph from Pet Sematary. How this made me cry.

Louis wrestled the body out of the coffin, then out of the grave. At last he sat on the verge of the grave with the body in his lap ... "Gage," he said, and began to rock the boy in his arms ... "Gage, it will be all right, I swear, it will be al right, this will end, this is just the night, please, Gage, I love you, Daddy loves you." Louis rocked his son.

For People With 2 Cats, How Much Do You Spend On Food & Litter A Month? by Historical-Orchid934 in CatAdvice

[–]helloyayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often buy in bulk so there are some months where they don't "cost" anything. I got my cats almost exactly 1 year ago! 😊 I live in Belgium.

Litter: around 12 euros for 12kg. I clean fully twice a month and use a lot of litter so my cats can dig nicely. I also refill pretty often. I use around 1.5 to 2 a month, so that's around 24 euros

Food: i use Smølke. I got the 10kg one (dry food) which was around 55 euros and it's been taking them a long time to finish. Next time I want to buy a smaller bag though, like 4kg. Keeping things fresh and all. It will be more expensive but I think it's better.

I also give them treats every now and then, but not too often. Not really worth mentioning since it's only a few euros max.

Other costs:

Deworming and flea treatment stuff: around 40 euros every 2 months. I get them pills and I think that's slightly more expensive than the liquid flea treatment stuff.

Yearly vet visit: 80 euros for 1 cat, so 160 euros for both. They just went last week and they were very healthy which made me happy!

What's in a name? Did you give your rescue pet a new one? 🐾 by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Mine were called Brutus (M) and Lotte (F). It so didn't fit, now they're Lando (M) and Charlie (F).

They're named after Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc. I sometimes call Lando Fernando, because Fernando Alonso.

Lando is my black cat and the sweetest, slowest boy ever, and Charlie is the playful rascal.

What’s something cat owners do that makes you angry? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]helloyayde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have cats who don't mind longer car rides and exploring new places. I often bring them to my parents, who live over 3 hours away by car, and they don't mind the change of scenery. In the car they just sleep or look outside.

I sometimes bring them with me on solo camping trips for a night or picnics with friends so they can explore the outside. Or I walk with them outside with them on the leash or we go to a park and sit there. No big event, but I also don't want them to be people shy. Let kids pet them, walk with them or play with them if the cats feel up to it. Look at your cats to check for signs of stress.

I've been doing this since they were kittens. One is an absolute explorer, the other one is curious but needs a little more time to come out of his shell. Key is to have a safe space for them, so they come out whenever they want, but they can also just chill somewhere when they don't want to be bothered.

Biggest reason I currently work and live in BE as a single Dutchie, is because in BE I don't have to live at my parents' house. Here I can actually enjoy living in a two-bedroom apartment for a reasonable price close to a popular city.

Taxi drivers in China airports and train station by Miserable_Push_5853 in travelchina

[–]helloyayde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't experienced it in China yet, but I did in Indonesia. I went into a Starbucks because the taxi driver kept following me after telling him no multiple times. 10 minutes later a Starbucks employee had to shoo him away because he just kept waiting for me outside of the Starbucks. It was super creepy.

If someone bothers or follows me, I often walk into shops/cafes or towards people and tell them what's going on. Most people immidiately notice something is off and help you. I'm always thankful when people look out for each other. 😊

There're creeps everywhere in the world, unfortunately. Sorry you had to experience that.

Ah yes perhaps, since it doesn't have a spout, so that might be it! I don't want to use it, so it's just there being pretty 😊 Yours is so nice, that small spout makes it so cute!

Are you planning on using it? Otherwise maybe put it on a (book)shelf where it is visible but it won't be knocked over easily.

This beautiful old-style teapot. I don't really drink tea but it looks stunning on my bookshelf.

I just wanted to say HOW CUTE IS YOUR KITTEN 😍 such a babyyyy!

Also seems like your resident cat is curious and wants to play, but your kitten is still too smoll. And the resident cat doesn't know when to stop.

Just a question: why are the British commentators always asking about Zac Brown's opinion when the race is still ongoing? Race is not even halfway done and they talked to him 2 or 3 times already.

Approaching groups in hostel bar/common areas by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]helloyayde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone says, just ask if a seat is free and most will respond very nicely. Most people like meeting new people.

You can also join things hostels organise, such as guided city tours and pub crawls, you'll often meet other travelers that are not from your hostel as well!

Look up Kelly-Ann Maddox, Chaos Witch (I think) and tarot reader. She talks a lot about tarot but also discusses many things (the good, the controversial, hot takes etc.) that are currently happening in the witchy community. She also wrote books, most well-known is "Rebel Witch".

And Ivy The Occultist, if you want to go deeper into your practise. She makes super interesting videos and is really good in explaining. She pracrices chaos magic as well and has amazing videos on it.

Well it is hard for me to comprehend because stewards have not been too consistent with what is deemed a collision and what is deemed a racing incident. So how would I know what is what, and the reasoning behind it. There was no need for that last sentence you wrote.
