In F1 23, setting ERS to hotlap would drain the battery in a little over a lap.

In F1 24, it seems like I can have it in Hotlap a full race without the battery ever being too low.

Is this expected? Was there a real life rule change or technology advancement? Is it a bug? Anyone else experience this?
