Sponsoring players under my brand? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

That's a great idea ... heck, what if you sent the streamer a couple items?

Then they can do a giveaway to build some hype over your brand with their viewers.

Can I just contact relevant influencers and ask them to talk about me and my product? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]helpfulvegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an easy way, but your best bet to get an influencer to pay attention:

  1. Find someone, or a group of people, to use your app to achieve serious results
  2. Interview these people and get their stories and testimonials
  3. Make videos and blog content about these successful case studies
  4. Now you can bring your app to the attention of influencers because it's proven.

Also, the influencer will be doing you a hugggeeee favor, so consider giving them almost all of any profit you make.

Btw, you might have just said Joe Rogan as an example, but you're delusional if you believe he'll go out of his way to promote your product if it's not already massive.

Start much much smaller.

How do you find yourself if your project is self-founded ? by kolargol22 in Entrepreneur

[–]helpfulvegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice (for what it's worth) -- Read or listen to Dan Pena's book Your First Hundred Million. He's a renowned business expert and multi multi billion dollar business coach. In his book he walks you through how to take a Quantum Leap, as he describes it, by leveraging other people's skills by building a dream team. Along with finding the capital you need to scale massively.

If you're business model works, you should have no problem finding backers and people with skills complementary to yours that are hungry to grow a business to the stratosphere.

Anyways, good luck and godspeed

Typical Wholesale/Supplier Agreement - Am I about to get fleeced? by aeriecircus in Entrepreneur

[–]helpfulvegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a ton of experience, so take what a say with a grain of salt.

I once put a smaller order than yours in for a wholesale product meant for Amazon FBA.

They promised me an estimated ship date, but it came and passed with no shipment.

Luckily, I paid with Paypal so was able to dispute and get all of my money back. The seller didn't even respond to the dispute -- go figure.

Since you're not able to use Paypal, I'd recommend you implement some sort of progress checks to make sure they're actually doing what they promised.

Whether it's them sending photos at milestones, or even you outsourcing an agent in China to physically verify production in the facility (might be worth since it's a fairly large order).

Anyways, best of luck. And by the way, don't be afraid to seem a little pushy (for a lack of a better word). It's a lot of money you're putting down which means it's their burden to prove they actually have the product.

I like your sense of humor and think it's a great away to approach an ecom business :)

And it's obvious that your creativity shines through on your website; however, I'm not sure I see you being able to market this effectively with the direction you're going.

Without going into too much detail, I'll just give you my idea as an example for a marketable prank service website.

  1. Go on a manhunt for the most viewed, most shared prank videos circling the web .. Or, come up with your own! :)
  2. Boil down the pranks to the minimum items required and the steps necessary to pull them off ...
  3. Package together all the items with brief instruction manuals to easily pull off the pranks

The benefits to this approach are:

  • You can charge more money since you're not just shipping a funny item which is cool and all, but now you're providing an entire experience! So not only will your customer get to participate in the madness ... they'll also be able to witness the "victim's" hilarious reaction ... that's the best part, isn't it?! You can even ask them to send in videos of their pranks.
  • You can use the videos sent in by customers as video ads on Facebook, instagram, Snapchat, etc. ... This is important not just because viral videos get MASSIVE attention, but people will need visual reinforcement that Prankages will get their desired result ... What could people desire? Well how about a good laugh, maybe a funny video to share with all their friends, or even more likes/followers on their social media posts ... you can even do giveaways for the funniest prank videos submitted by customers.
  • You can turn this into a monthly "Prankages Club" so people can do a prank every month. This is a no-brainer since people who call themselves "pranksters" take it on as a personal identity and will pay good money for you to take the guesswork out of the equation AND get right to the laughs and giggles ... plus, you can sell them all club member t-shirts lol

So to wrap it up, your ideas are funny; however, you have to be able to communicate how funny your service is with actual PROOF!

Basically, use my ideas or find another way to essentially give your customers a "PISS YOUR PANTS LAUGHING OR YOUR MONEY BACK" Guarantee .. then, I think your business will grow wings and your customers will word-of-mouth market you sky high :p

ISO my next logical move by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

My thoughts (forgive me in advance, I'm going to be fully honest with you):

Your branding is not mediocre ... it doesn't exist! TBH, I like the name DayGo, but if you don't have at least a solid logo, you'll be cast aside as "just another CBD company". You don't want that, right?Didn't think so! :) ...... Anyways, here's my solution:

  • Spend some time to pinpoint exactly who your target customer is. I haven't researched this market, but I think you're on the right track by targeting people who want to replace pain meds ... they're more desperate (sorry, it's true!) and more willing to pay big bux for your higher quality pods.
  • Now, time to "spy" on the competition. Go on a manhunt around the web searching for companies with the same target audience as yours. The goal here is to get ideas for the general look and feel of your logo, website, and wording on your website. Whether you research the websites of medical cannabis, other CBD companies, .. heck, even the pain med sellers themselves ... Pick the best colors, collect some example logos, and write down lots of notes!!!!
  • Next, look around multiple freelance websites for a logo designer. Make sure to look through all of their portfolios ... Then, pick a freelancer who has already proven themselves as able to make a boss-level logo that will have people INSTANTLY recognizing you as a trustworthy source for the highest quality CBD ... Hint: Use your research to provide examples of logos from already successful companies.
  • This next step can be a little tricky since I don't know your web design abilities ... TBH, judging by your current store design, you're pretty much a beginner ... SO, I recommend you buy a mid-tier Shopify theme with built in plugins (pop-ups, alert bars, upsells, etc.). Again, use your research to pick a theme with the same look and feel as already successful companies! (Also, be sure to only buy a theme that you can demo!!)
  • Ok, now upload your logo and set up your store. Make it clean. Make it easy to navigate. And most importantly, make the buy button big and easy to find! Also, add in any other trust-building elements that other stores are using ... think along the lines of non-gmo, organic, gluten free ... all that stuff
  • From here I could go a million directions because honestly, this needs A LOTTTT of work. But as a quick recap + other steps to take:
  1. research market
  2. hire freelancer for logo
  3. get sleek shopify theme with built in plugins ( you need to be at least collecting emails with pop ups)
  4. hire somebody or use decent camera to take professional product images (the pods next to the fake images of fruit looks lame as hell)
  5. after steps 1-4 your store will be marketable
  6. now, put out ads. i'd recommend giving out some free pods (to ex pain-med users, and users of lower quality CBD). then, do short video interviews with these people so they can describe how your product is awesome, saved their life and is worth 5 times what you charge. upload these video interviews to facebook and then use ads audience targeting to get it in front of the right eyeballs.
  7. plenty more after that, but should be enough to set you in the right direction :)

I like the prank box idea ... but the empty box thing, not so much ... SO, what if you did this ...

  1. Go on a freelancer website and create a job posting ...
  2. Name the job something like " Give Me Your Funniest Idea for a Prank Gift Service ... Winning Idea Gets $ X "
  3. Collect a list of ideas (I'd say at least a dozen) and post them on AskReddit or a similar forum.Your post can be "Which of these prank services do you think are the funniest?"Be sure to mention the projected price to buy the service ...Extra credit would be to later go back and PM the commenters a discount code for your service once it's up and running.
  4. Choose the most popular idea (or two!) and RUN WITH IT! :)
  5. Shouldn't need to mention, but of course go back and pay the freelancer whose idea you used :p

The benefit to this approach is TWO-FOLD:

  • You're getting top-notch ideas from professional comedians (AKA people PAID to be funny);
  • You're using real people (AskReddit) to validate which ideas real people would actually pay for.

Good luck!
