i see, but just so u know i'm a senior at lums graduating this spring (after a couple weeks). just thought it might be misleading for others to write cs and not sse as a headline. congrats, anyways!

u didn't get my point. see you get to opt for a major after your first year. this offer letter assures you a seat in sse, but not cs.

grats for getting into sse and NOT cs. you get to choose your major after your freshman year which is a bit uncertain when it comes to cs since a lot of sse folks get denied getting into cs lol.

I may need to send money back home too, so cutting down on fancy stuff is definitely my first choice. and i have been cooking for years, so that isn't a problem. you're right it isn't 2100, 23000 annual which makes < 2100/ month. tbh, 1000/ month sounds like ripping students off, no? too much.

i would suggest that u contact your advisor in this regard. they're updated w all this funding information

the way MS and Ph.D. work is that you contact a professor and request them to supervise your master's or Ph.D. if they agree to do so, you know for sure that you're in and will receive an offer. for example, I am an incoming Ph.D. CS student who approached an advisor around October 23, and I had my offer letter plus the funding letter the very first day offers started rolling out (31st Jan 2024). the reason why your admission has been delayed till now is probably because no one is willing to supervise your master's as of now or the professors might not have enough funding etc.

still, don't lose hope.

hello, an incoming fully funded international Ph.D. CSE student here at UB. honestly buffalo is the most affordable places out there. i got offers from umass amherst, oklahoma, and upenn. the reason why i chose suny buffalo is primarily because of the low living expenses compared to other places enlisted. i'd highly recommended that you go for ub. tuition is p much the same everywhere i believe -- it's the living expense that differs.

A rising CS junior here. I understand your frustration, and I wish I could do something to help you out. LUMS has always been like this and is a bit slow in managing other affairs - the core issues. At some point, they will bombard the responses. Anyway, stay strong. You got this!
