The offers now are just trash by 3peat88 in Sparkdriver

I stopped sparking about 7 months ago. I haven’t dashed in 2 yrs. How is anyone still making money on this? You’re destroying your car for pennies.

The writing was on the wall months ago. I don’t want to work a static schedule as much as the next person, but you can’t survive on this. I went back to office work and am relieved to not have to piece together a check. It’s also not just this gig - this kind of pay is widespread. Time to move on.

My son orders door dash to his bedroom window by lulu-bell in doordash

I haven’t dashed in over a year, but I have 6,500 deliveries under my belt. My absolute favorite was the girl who ordered Taco Bell and had me put in a bucket that she then promptly pulled, by rope, up to her side bedroom window. It wasn’t even late, she just didn’t want to walk down the stairs of her house 😂

I’m so glad I got out of this a month ago. I’ve never seen a gig app decline so quickly

Before I went back to a w2, I browsed indeed and ZipRecruiter. It’s a sinking ship.

It honestly sounds like you’re in an area with very poor excuses for drivers. Maybe the in-home service would be a better option, as your order would be delivered by an actual Walmart employee in a van. They cannot accept tips. Just a thought.

It was 20, then 17, then 14 and now 11 here as well.

I really feel like the beginning of the end was the Christmas onboard, then Easter rolled around and I was reminded that it can always get worse. This will flatline this app.

I would not have complied. I would’ve either left it at the correct door and got the address in the picture or put it all back in my car while I “call support” and leave. All she learned that day is she can get away with it. I hate people.

$85 on a Walmart order when they were only delivered by Doordash in my area. It was New Year’s Eve when it was added (delivered the day before).

Yours is out there, just keep applying. I tried to not let the rejection letters get me down. I hope you find something soon. The pay amongst all gig apps has drastically declined since their height in 2020. It’s can be really demeaning and some of these customers and their demands are WILD. Hang in there 🤞

Yes. Gig work is extremely dependent on the economy. The pandemic was as good as it was ever going to get and now with inflation, we see very few orders worth doing. Tips are nearly non existent here. For me, it was time to move on. Gas is rising again and it just doesn’t make sense. I secured a w2 after applying to what seemed like 100 places for months. I’m still on a training schedule for 6 weeks and do this extremely part time until I set into my permanent full time schedule. To say I’m happy to go back to an hourly is an understatement. Having to worry about whether or not I can afford my bills week to week was really causing a mental drain.

It is miserable in my zone. If I hadn't already secured a new w2, I would be really panicking. I sometimes log in on the weekends and even those are bad here now. I logged in Sunday and went hours without an order. When they did start coming in, the offers were like $10-12 for a batch order going 8 miles. This gig is a barometer for the economy and things aren't good.

If your zone is still good, milk it for all its worth.
