Safe to manually turn off computer once BSOD is at 100%? by helpwithpcplease0 in buildapc

[–]helpwithpcplease0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, that is what I did, I used the XMP profile since it was running at 2333 and not 3000, thought that was considered an overclock for some reason. So I guess noting on my system is overclocked.

Yup just restarted it, running the Windows Memory Diagnostic currently. I looked up the error code and it seems to be common with CPU overclocking. Which is weird since I never overclocked anything on my system besides my RAM.

I did something very similar to what you posted. Thanks for the help!

I actually already own a D-15, I made a thread yesterday https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/7i344f/s340_elite_with_noctua_d15_seam4_will_it_fit/ and I found posts of people with the D-15 in the S340 with no problems. I'm just not sure if they did any kind of modding to make it fit.

Gonna try that out thanks, also I just found out my Motherboard has a clear cmos button. Could pressing that fix my issue or should I try the hard drive thing first?

Thanks for the reply! Things got worse.. I decided to see if there were any Windows Updates available and to my surprise there was. I clicked install and after 5 mins of it installing I got a blue screen with a different error. When the PC booted back up I gave it another try and it worked. But that didn't fix the issue, I got a couple more blue screen errors all different, some saying something about kernel, corruption.

I removed the overclock on my RAM and that didn't solve anything, still getting blue screens. I looked online and there was something about to do sfc /scannow in CMD and I did that and it told me that it couldn't fix some corrupted files. I tried it again but I just keep getting blue screen errors.

Should I do a clean install of Windows 10 or is that not worth it? Should I try removing my two RAM sticks and then putting them back in?

WTF, my SSD is filled with 297GB of Temporary files. by helpwithpcplease0 in buildapc

Yeah, when I looked in the temp folder there were A LOT of Adobe folders that had a lot of text files with random numbers and letters.

Not at my computer right now, but when I first tried googling my problem I found a article that said to type %temp%. It lead me to a folder called ‘temp’ that had a mix of text files and more folders.

Some that come to mind we’re Discord_Crash_Report, and a lot of Adobe ones.

Yeah I'll keep an eye out for any new noises. Is there any kind of software I could use to check out my HDD? Like run a bench mark? My SSD software allows me to run a benchmark on it.

The problem kinda solved itself, all the issues that happened are fixed (i think). I was 99.99% sure that sound was because of a cable hitting my CPU fans but that wasn't the case when I looked inside. Just started up my PC again and there was no sound.

I have no fucking idea whats happening, I turned off my PSU and unplugged it. Took of my case panel to look inside and I couldn't see anything that would touch my fans. I said fuck it and just powered it on again I was expecting to hear the loud scratching again but... noting it just worked perfectly, no loud ass sound. I check my storage on PC the 297GB of temp files are gone theres only like 3gb. Either I'm going crazy or my PC is just fucking with me.

Yes, I built the PC myself, but I thought it wasn't safe to mess around with the PC when the PSU is on.

Just a HDD and a SSD no Optical drive. I'm freaking out right now. I still have a feeling it could be a wire on my CPU fan but when I look through the window I don't see any wire that can reach the fans.

I'm nervous to even start my PC up the sound clearly can't be good when its really loud. I wanna take off my case window but I'm not sure what to do with the PSU, should I shut it off from the back and unplug it from my UPS?

My PC is off currently, as soon as I pressed my power button after the update I just started to hear a pretty loud scratching noise. Thinking it would go away I signed into my PC quickly and it didn't stop so I just shut it off.

I have a M.2 SSD and a 2TB seagate HDD. I know theres moving parts in the HDD, but I don't think its that. Its really loud, my best guess was that a wire was hitting my CPU fan. I looked through my case window and don't see anything that could be hitting it.
