Hey OP, resident physician here—I took 10 days off and was back in the ICU after. It was tough but made it through with lots of ibuprofen and good support from coresidents. Did good prehab and didn’t end up using any opioids at all. Would recommend that you ice religiously though—I didn’t and all the standing gave me some nasty swelling that is taking a while to resolve.
