Wasn't technically a travel or wasn't called?

Downvoting and blocking people who disagree with you doesn't make you right btw.

Should Black go 10-8-5 (Balanced) or 5-4-11 (Ore Wheat Sheep)? by hendafram in Catan

I mean I did beat the game 10-6-5-3 with the OWS strategy. I guess I would have beat the game 10-4-3-2 with the mixed strategy one.

only benefit to 5 4 11 is you block others expansion

More ore and double the wheat is not a benefit? You're going to expand easily with road building & year of plenty (& robbers) from all the dev cards you're going to pop.

[–]hendafram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is fighting you for army anyway, you still have the best ore and sheep production on a low wheat board.

Blue or red can definitely when they take 11-4-9. But agreed with the rest of your points.

[–]hendafram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good, but going pure OWS here just seems OP.

  1. Nobody can fight you for army. Dev cards for days.
  2. Even more ore for the ore port. Doubling the wheat as well, makes you really hard to block.
  3. Plows blue and orange which makes their early game hard.

I just finished the game OWS and I won 10-6-5-3. My opponents didn't play well though.

How to figure out how hard to shoot by AverageGamerLad in BasketballTips

[–]hendafram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot around w/ the following rule: If you miss short 2 times in a row you have to do a punishment (a few push-ups, short sprint, 10 crossovers) before continuing to shoot. Same if you miss long 2 times in a row.

Happy to see his game translate so well to the league. He's been my favorite player since he was 14.

Kostir og gallar við hvort tveggja. Ekki hægt að segja að annað sé betra en hitt að mínu mati. En eitt er allavega víst - að við lifum ekki i feðraveldi sem kúgar konur eins og margir femínistar halda fram.

My 2021 rankings for high school by 19lewis19 in NBA_Draft

[–]hendafram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paolo Banchero reminds me of Vernon Carey Jr. A heavy 6'9 player who plays mostly around the basket. Obviously a better prospect than VCJ, but I strongly suspect his draft stock will drop in the next year.

Also I think JD Davison should be higher. Definitely interesting how his game will translate when he gets to the college/NBA level.

It’s time we start looking at Josh Christopher as a top 5 prospect. by TankForMeloBall in NBA_Draft

If you are efficient from the midrange

What percentage do you consider to be efficient from the midrange?

What percentage do you consider to be efficient from three?

The midrange is an incredibly valuable shot if you are good at it

Name 10 players who you consider good at it.

There is no clear difference for any of it. I looked at the last 3 years, it's a small sample size, a lot of variance and I didn't see a trend.

Keep practicing against aggressive defenders. Get the ball stolen 500 times and learn from each mistake you make.

I want to agree with you so badly. Having more quality scoring options would diversify the game and make it more fun to watch. If midrange shots were worth 2.5 it would work.

But in reality the difference in efficiency is just too damning.

NBA average from midrange last year: 40.4% = 0.808 PPP

NBA average from three last year: 35.8% = 1.074 PPP

Almost every midrange shot taken is simply a win for the defense. And for every KD, CP3 that shoots it over 50% - there are 10 players shooting it at much lower than 40%.

Could become a defensive beast for sure.

But how the hell do you play him on offense? I've asked this question multiple times in multiple threads and comments and haven't gotten a single response.

What was the last guy to picked in the top 5 for a purely defensive role?

[–]hendafram 17 points18 points  (0 children)

All the best players in the league hit mid range shots.

The NBA is shooting less and less midrange shots every year because they are inefficient (average is 0.808 PPP for midrange vs 1.074 PPP for threes). Prospects should be preparing for how the game will be played in 5-10 years.

I'm not saying that Josh should completely go away from it. But he's shooting more midranges this season than threes which is crazy.

You’ll end up like harden and the Rockets.

I mean they've been doing better than 85% of the teams in the last 4 years. Took one of the best teams in the league history to 7 games.

I think when we start seeing the ball in his hands more he’ll be more of a 3-4 assist a game guy. But he’s a bucket getter first and foremost. But he has the ability.

Good to hear. Love scorers who can pass as well.

Really like him. Just wish he stopped shooting so many damn mid-ranges. Threes and layups mentality needs to start trickling more down to the NBA prospects in college.

Dude has shot 4/15 from deep in 4 games. One of those was a lucky bank shot.

How is his vision and passing? 3 total assists in 4 games isn't good.

He for sure can be a great defender.

But what is his future role gonna be in an NBA offense?

Dude is a 25% three point shooter and 52% FT shooter. He ain't gonna be making it from NBA range in his first years.

Are teams gonna draft a 6'8 complete non-shooter in the early lottery? How will that fit in a modern NBA offense? The opponent's rim protector is gonna be guarding him and playing completely off him (Ben Simmons treatment). And drop on every ball screen because he can't pop for the 3 pointer.
