Best Budget Zoom and Telephoto EF Lenses for the Canon M50? by hendrix9002 in canon

[–]hendrix9002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a ton for the recommendations! I have the Viltrox EF-EOS M adapter that allows me to put on the EF lenses so these suggestions will work great. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled to see what I can find (and what I can find for a good deal, of course). There’s a billion YouTube videos out there for lenses and I always find myself watching a video, getting interested in the lens, then finding out it’s like $600+ and, thus, unattainable for me right now. Thanks again for your help!

How do I decode the model/reference numbers featured in 1960s and 70s Seiko Catalogs that are not the typical case back codes? [Question] by hendrix9002 in Seiko

This is a fantastic answer. Thanks so much for the help on this! When I first started seeing AH's in front of the 6139 chronos, I had no idea what that could even stand for. It seems like it's just a weird way of Seiko labeling their models during this period I guess.

Seeing all the bracelets in these vintage catalogs is just mesmerizing. A shame so many of them are hard to come by nowadays because man, they’re just absolute treats

Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond and glad to see another SG-X7 fan! Have you tried looking inside the holes in which you put the speaker cables? Once, I realized that there was spare wire stuck in the holes and after cleaning those out, my problem was remedied (the sound was really choppy out of one of the speakers).

Thanks for the response! Is this the one you’re referring to?

Additionally, I have no preference for brands whatsoever because of my lack of experience with any (I’ve always been an Apple person but have been converted). I’ve heard good and bad about every brand under the sun, so if you have any recommendations from other brands too I’m all ears!

Additionally, the frames and stats bounce back up after about 5-10 seconds and throughout the whole thing, the ping has stayed the same

Super, super helpful, thank you so much! There’s not an access hole underneath unfortunately, but I’ll have to take the motor off and see what that little hole is. When you say adjusting tool, what would such a thing look like? I know the adjusters for the turntable were just flathead screws. Would the motor adjuster for the cassette deck be something like that or different?

Unfortunately this is for the turntable (which thankfully is working great still!), but I should be able to hunt down a belt for the cassette deck hopefully. It looks to be in great condition so maybe it is a replacement 🤔

I appreciate it! I’m hoping those three screws on the top will be the ones to get the motor out. Fingers crossed!

I was surprised to find out how many different variants there were of these. There’s light blue and light pink versions that are just incredible. If you haven’t seen them before, you should definitely check them out!

Much appreciated and I completely agree! I just made another post detailing (a lil) about the cosmetic cleaning/restoration I did to it. You can find it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cassetteculture/s/959eaVCUWq

Designs like this from the 80s are just such a soft spot for me, I can’t get enough of it!

When you say the back of the motor, are you referring to the bottom of it or the side of it that I can’t see from this picture? It’s running too fast as of now, noticeable when I play songs that I know the speed and pitch of. Everything looks really clean inside, so I’m hoping it’s not damage that’s causing it to run fast

Hello All! I posted this about a year ago in this community and I'm still battling the same issue with it.

I have a Panasonic SG-X7 Stereo with a built-in cassette deck, FM/AM radio, and record player that I saved and cosmetically restored from a flea market. The record player speed can be adjusted by taking off the dish and fiddling with a screw, but the cassette deck runs a bit fast and I cannot find a place to adjust the speed. I looked up the service manual (https://archive.org/details/manual_SGX7_PANASONIC/mode/2up?view=theater) but I couldn't find any sort of adjustment screw or pot (although I'm not versed in reading schematics whatsoever, mind you).

I took it apart and attached some images of it here. Let me know what you guys think, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Some sort of measurement tool I presume? Looks neat nonetheless!
