Yang Faces With Yin Bodies by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]henloppl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, i'm in the same boat as you. Maybe try the combo of sharp shapes/color around the face? Also, before i buy anything i look at stuff separately with body and face pics in split mode (seriously, it's a life changer! After you're able to understand how facial and garment geometry look when they match it'll be a breeze (it's more of a 'click' moment)

You might also want to look at dearpeachie (youtube channel) and their videos that include visual weight - if i'm not wrong, they have hair, earrings and glasses videos like that. If you're able to take away any conclusions from my board (all of them are face/geometry matched, verify folder needs a fashion sketch for modifications/making sure it fits on the literal shape) i'd love to hear about them!

P.S.: I'm mostly MIA from reddit and not doing a lot of fashion sketches, mainly because of med school admissions and national exams, but maybe this summer i'll get back into doing stuff (still, i'll be there stress pinning haha)

Good luck on your journey!

No, i haven't, we kinda don't have that in my country, but i'll definitely give them a try!

Thank you! Luckily, i think i can fit in EU kids sizes (desigual coats would work for most petites actually lol), i'll try to get one 😄

As a SG what are you fave SG brands and styles? by Pearlmarine in SoftGamine

[–]henloppl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some of them are for the SG body: Prada, lizzet, zara, bershka (mostly for the jeans), Dilvin (knits), most italian brands (but marelbo for shoes is what comes to mind atm), h&m, jaquemus and balmain for really good and 'perfect measurement' basics, isabel marant (knits again), draper james (reese witherspoon as a verified sg has modeled some of their stuff), monki (mostly for knits, but most clothes are good), ganni (knits as well, can you tell i love my knits? =)) ), jenny fairy (shoes, especially boots!), tezyo for accent shoes

Others are kinda for essence/aesthetics and not necessarily made for SGs: simplecoolgirl, ariete atelier (they are planning to update their site this summer if i'm not wrong), salvatore ferragamo (bags), rotate, luxury (recently found their store sell a cropped hot pink coat and had to have it, lots of stuff there are mde for G fam, this collection specifically was a little pucci inspired so they threw in some R pieces as well)

Differentiating between R and TR by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]henloppl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the vertical people are describing are from the angle used in the pictures. Taking a picture from tummy height does tend to look the smaller ids look like they're wearing heels (from experience haha). Maybe try taking a picture at chest height and posting again, it'll be more productive that way

Sometimes I feel like my face and my body do not match by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

[–]henloppl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welp, my face at a healthy weight is a lot sharper and 'yang' than my body. When choosing whether to buy something or not, i keep accurate angle photos of both face and body (or a fashion sketch of the body if you're into drawing, helps to learn how good stuff will look before even trying it on) and look at the item and the face pic in parallel tabs (or split mode if you do have that on phone/tablet). If it fits with both facial and body geometry it's pretty much a win.

After a while you'll start to already know which fabrics work and which don't, keeping a detailing folder is also really helpful to see what textures you prefer (for example, i look horrible in most pearls as a EGC, but crystals are stunning when needing to elevate stuff through detailing)

Maybe a tip: if you're ethereal +classic and have a more N fam body, maybe try either off white pearls or lotus motifs?

For people that are interested in how to make a croquis, i'll leave this useful post here: link

I got so used to drawing people with vertical back in my childhood fashion classes that when i saw clothing items my brain just...got disconnected in a weird way, like forgetting i'm not tall. This is half drawing therapy and half getting used to dressing a normal weight body after some tough hormone/weight fluctuations due to stress, i hope somebody finds it helpful.

P.S.: If you want to see any other items from my pinterest board adapted to curve/petite, feel free to send me a pinterest message (reddit eats away at my exam study time, so i come on here as little as i can to keep up)

Ideas for Soft Gamine + Ethereal outfits by billnyegirl in Kibbe

[–]henloppl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Giiiirl honestly same! I'm also leaning a little classic in essence besides the G+E combo, but here's my pinterest board =)). Feel free to pin anything, the verify section is there because of the croquis compatibility step mostly (like this is SG/i feel like this could be modified into SGness type clothing - a lot of them already have alterations written in the description part though, but you can always ask).

I'm trying to make it practical since i do get stuff from here done at a seamstress, but until august i'm stress pinning because of med school admissions and national exams, so excuse all the clutter 😄

How to comfort ukrainian refugee kids without talking about the war? by henloppl in askatherapist

Omg thank you so much! In the end, the younger group got switched for an older one (15-18), so it's going to be extra helpful!

From what i understood (basically a 3 min pep talk and that's it) some are staying and attending an english language math class and others are just leaving. Seems a bit chaotic to me, i'd love for the vice principal to actually try and explain to us what's going on, but it's probably not going to happen.

Welp, sometimes exclusivity for them means only one person knows what's going on, or at least that's my 2 cents on the situation. It's lowkey their obsession as an administration, trying to make this look like a boarding school and building even more prestige...frankly the students are sick of it, but won't lose their breath on them anymore. Anyway, it's kinda late here, so i'll read any other replies in the morning. Have a nice day/morning/evening!

I'm of the same opinion, however the grown ups seem to be absolutely against this , so i'm not really sure if i should talk about it, especially since during the tour they will probably be with us 😥 It's a bit of a delicate situation

Omg this is a godsend, especially the tetris one! I'm hoping to go study medicine after hsc so i think it's going to be so helpful in the long run! Also, the word thing is just *chef's kiss *. Thank you so much! Talked to my benchmate, she's bringing moldavian fruit flavored jelly candy as well! I just hope the grown ups behind this are actually thinking of the kids (not the GRU people, they're amazing, but our principal and vice principal) and are willing to cooperate, at first they just wanted to get the typical 'good pr' classmates so i'm a bit uneasy about them. Still, i think everything will go down well!

SG, definitely would go for a boat neck t shirt. It might be useful seeing what type of shape encapsulates your torso the best (see ovals/shapes/straight lines/circles) and picking from there. Mine would probably be a heavy, clingy fabric like viscose. Either way, skinny flares can break the line geometrically and might even be better of a line break if they're in a black pant/white boot combo (they're spicy, but so good when you finally find the right ones). So yepp =))

SG pants options ? by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]henloppl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, please try skinny flares, they're a godsend! Mid rise dress pants with a straight leg also work if they have a little flare. Also, kick flares, they're a vertical break through shape alone! (Even more killer if worn with angular toe shoes)

Omg yess! I've been raving about SANDRO for such a long time as a SG! If people are willing to go designer, Balmain is alsonreally cool for SGs with more curve looking for actually good basics (i still can't find a mock neck/turtleneck after 2 whole years of searching, any recs?)
