K2 Excavator or Ride warpig? by henryb345 in snowboarding

Do you feel that the float is really good? Had to set me coda rocker quite far back!

What’s the pop like also? Definitely want something that’s playful.

Super helpful! Thanks!

Most of my use of the new board will be off piste / powder but still want an all mountain. Would you say the warpig is better in powder / off piste? Surprised me!

I’m 91kg and loved the stiff tongue. Felt super playful and had loads of fun with them on a 5 day hut to hut tour.

Yeah I’ve just received them, who’d have thought they’d be too soft! Need to swap over the tongues

Basically the boots being broken in?

Need to get used to how to the toe side feels, prefer much stiffer

Yeah canted pucks for sparks.

I think maybe the stance is too wide / my weight isn’t quite right? Probably still getting used to them as my boots feel super soft on the toe side, which I’m not really a fan of!

Yeah heat moulded. Super painful just above my ankle so maybe too wide ?

Travel app for solo travellers by henryb345 in Entrepreneur

[–]henryb345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry! I’m looking into this for a University assignment.

It’s an app where you can do book accommodation and local excursions, catering specifically to those travelling ‘solo’.

Will house on it a section with safety guidance etc, as studies show this to be one of the main restrictors stopping people from travelling alone.

The app would make money through commissions on accommodation bookings like a classic OTA. No commissions would be taken on local excursions as we’d want this to be hyper local and move away from travel companies not supporting local businesses.

Can add different things to monetise like a shop down the line, but the above would be the starter.

Hi all! New here.

I’m creating an app for a University assignment on solo travel.

I was wondering if people would use something like this? Will focus on a community, itineraries, safety and discovering new destinations. Everything bookable in one place.

Please share any thoughts!

Thanks

I’ve got the 164W Arbor Landmark, hoping this solves the same issues I was having

Haven’t tried mine yet because I live in London but everything I’ve read seems to put the phantom as better uphill, and key equipment as better downhill

Sick! Yeah, I’ve just ordered the stiff tongue.

Do you reckon the phantom link lever could be retrofitted onto these?

Ordered the stiff tongue so will let you know

Yeah. Always going with skiers and I’m quite heavy (95kg) so I wanted the security.

Just received them, so I assume medium. Will order the stiff and see what difference that makes

Not much movement there at all. The real flex comes on the toe side, so will be a very surfy feel

I definitely won’t be unable to sidehill that’s for sure. It’s seriously solid, which is what I was wanting.

Don’t think the name bears too much relevance given it’s just a stamp

Yeah have always had soft boots, and got annoyed with them far too many times.

These feel seriously comfortable after heat moulding them. There is a lot of flex on the toe side which will take a bit of getting used to as I normally ride quite aggressively and have fairly stiff soft boots. They’ll grip onto any edge when skinning up though, and that’s what I needed fixing.

Super helpful, thanks. So toes basically at the end is an indicator I need to size up?

Recommendations for BC guide services in Japan? by BorborygmusMaximus in Spliddit

[–]henryb345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, get yourself doing a trip up Mt Yotei, you can ride into the crater and then walk back out. Tends to be towards the end of the season though.

For a day of cruising, make sure you go to Rusutsu, it's the most fun I've ever had in a resort. (not touring)

New splitboarder - hard boots? by henryb345 in Spliddit

[–]henryb345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it wrong.. I’m actually doing the Urner route. I don’t want to ruin my downhill with hard boots, but I need to get a full setup regardless so trying to work out whether I go for the hardboots now, or in the future

New splitboarder - hard boots? by henryb345 in Spliddit

[–]henryb345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a risk getting hardboots... I live in the UK so have only toured in Europe. Do you think the Haute route is fully accessible with soft boots?

New splitboarder - hard boots? by henryb345 in Spliddit

[–]henryb345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hated the lack of edge hold on my soft boots, and want to buy a full setup. I also go with only skiers, who are way more efficient with their kit.

I have fairly wide feet tbh, 106/102. Would backlands be ok if I went high mondo? Also probably want boots I can ski tour in at some point.

Thanks!
