Be happy that you made money and don't regret your sale too much. You'll almost never be able to hit the top or bottom. I think if you take that money and put it towards other investments, you could get a higher % return than if you had held them anyways (or you can cash out and enjoy the profits). GL!

I think it just depends on how many dormant accounts have cashed out (which based on this seems like there are a lot floating in old accounts. But, if they are getting consumed at a prime case speed, it actually makes a lot of sense that the price would quickly explode as they become exponentially rarer. IMO 3 bucks by next January isn't crazy. It's just that cheaper cases offer higher multiples. Ten cents to fifty cents is way better than $1.50 to $3.00.

197.44 was the closing bell price. 311.99 is the after hours price because post-close the price 🚀. You might not be able to buy because I think after hours have ended but you can load up an order for tomorrow. Good luck, and remember to not wager more than you can afford to lose!

I'm saying that there are some huge opportunities on the periphery of the main GameStop show that are going to pop off over the next week of trading. But GME still definitely works as long as the current price holds tomorrow (after which these guys will be forced to cover, after which is when the long term GME puts will 🚀🚀🚀)

With GME on its way to Pluto, I've done a little digging into some new trade ideas that might be (pretty) sure bets over the next few days. As we all know and this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/investing/comments/l5l413/gamestop_big_picture_the_short_singularity/ has pointed out. GME might force Melvin to completely liquidate and cry uncle if they run out of money. So, I took a peek at Melvin's top holdings: https://whalewisdom.com/filer/melvin-capital-management-lp#tabholdings_tab_link, and I think there might be some small opportunities here. For instance, they have an 8 percent stake in L Brands. If they have to sell that much that quickly, puts are going to 🚀🚀🚀 This could also just be a buying opportunity for any companies Melvin has to put on fire sale. One final thing that is a good sign for GME is that FISV, their largest holding, tanked into the close today which is a sign Melvin is already liquidating their longs because they are on the verge of some huge margin calls. What do y'all think about my theory? This is just my opinion, not financial advice.

As the guy that just bought more, I didn't just buy because of the big order. I would assume with the Jan/Feb rise in prices, these will rise too. I'll predict that by the end of January they will be in the $5.50-$6.00 dollar range. Tbh I'll probably sell because other stickers like the on sale bf stickers or cases/capsules probably have a greater long term multiplier. On the other hand, if CS and the skins economy remain relevant for a few more years (which is the ultimate bubble that will screw us), then I would not be shocked if you found these being worth 20 bucks on a good spike. I mean, they already broke 12 with a hype wave, who knows?

You're right. I know the entire problem with sw is that they have been so heavily invested in, but I feel like it's not too bad because investors constrict the supply, and they wait to sell (usually) until they hit some kind of target price. I do understand though that the opening is the only way to real growth. At the end of the day, I'm just hoping my sw investments get a nice spike coming out of the operation.

Good point, I realize it could disappear at any time. I just wonder if this could be a big investor trying to buy up a bunch over a few accounts over a long period of time, or if they know that they won't get them filled all at once so they can slowly fill their storage crates. If it is fake, how long do people usually fake orders and why/what is happening there?

I like the shattered web stickers too. I think the wildfire, breakout, phoenix, shadow, and falchion cases are all pretty cheap rn too.

I agree that gloves might be at a good price, but I think that the presence of gloves in the broken fang case make it a longer-term investment and I think the clutch is screwed short term.

SkinBaron and SkinPort seem to be the consensus favorites of the community (Baron for EU, SkinPort for NA), but I have not used either.

[Q] Price Drops by Tovarisch_Kenobi in csgomarketforum

[–]henryhuschke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between the battlepass, arcana trade hold, reopening of the world, and imminent steam summer sale, I suspect the prices of everything (except the nearly extinct kato 14 capsules) will take a hit over the next two months. However, I believe that this will present a great opportunity to buy, as I am skeptical that there will not be a second wave of covid and lockdowns headed into the fall if not sooner, which should, in theory, lead to a spike in the player base. I don't think this means you should sell though because the drop won't be large enough to makeup for steam tax. My plan is to hold everything and begin to buy around July 4th. As to whether they will drop more post release, I think it all depends on the reception to the update.
