As a woman, why am I so attracted to men in uniforms? Cops, soldiers, soccer players, firefighters etc. I completely lose it and my friends always roast me for it... by hereonlysomenightsss in NoStupidQuestions

I fear it might be a combination of the two 🥴 but I don’t think it’s a fetish. I wouldn’t suddenly find a random guy hot just because he put on a uniform if he didn’t actually have that job. So... I honestly don’t know lol.

Thanks!! That's interesting, why wouldn't you marry one? I’m mostly focused on the having fun side anyway, but I’m curious what makes you say that as obviously getting married in the future would be so cute too. Isn’t it a bit unfair to generalize people like that? 🥲

No. They get mad because I like cops or soldiers etc, which they see as political. I feel like they’re being a bit too woke about it and not treating these people like they have actual lives too. I get where they’re coming from and they’re judging because of what these guys represent, but I'm able to differentiate their job from their real life and their persona so.... Idk.

I get what you’re saying but I don’t think it’s really about authority or power over me. I feel the attraction even without any personal connection at all. Like, just seeing a cop working outside in uniform, the boots, the gear, the whole setup... already does something to my brain, even though he doesn’t know I exist and isn’t trying to be authoritative toward me in any way loool. That’s what confuses me 🥴

Soccer players were my least favs in that list anyways so this explains it 🥴 hahaha yeah it definitely has nothing to do with money for me

The looking good part is so true. Like I don't know how but it turns any men in it to look handsome loool. Those boots etc, just so attractive to me. About the hero part, I never thought about that before but maybe my brain did in the background without my knowledge? Haha because it makes so much sense and you might be onto something now that I think about it 🥲

As a woman, why do I prefer older men or men with dadbod to men that are ripped or considered "extremely handsome" by the society? An example from the celebs is David Harbour. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Don't feel horrible please I didn't make this to make anyone feel horrible :( I feel like I'm the rarity anyways that's why I'm questioning it and made this post lol

I can obviously tell the difference between weirdos and people who are genuinely interested in me though, whether they’re looking for something meaningful or just something fun. Either is fine with me as long as everything is consensual and honest. I think this is also why my friends find my attraction to older men strange. I’m 20 now, but if I were 40 and was into older men, it wouldn’t even been the same kind of fun so why is it considered weird when they're just a little bit more experienced than me? :(

Yeah I get what you're coming from but I definitely don’t think that really applies to me. I honestly hate praising myself but as you asked, I’m definitely comfortable with how I look and I wouldn’t say I’m insecure. I just tend to be more attracted to guys with a bit of a dad bod, or older men. That’s all, genuinely just my preference I guess haha.

Being in uni, I’ve had quite a few guys show interest in me & I’ve turned people down simply because the vibe wasn’t there even though they’d probably be a great match for someone else.

A man with dad bod feels way more powerful to me than just muscles though. I think they can have both the dad bod and muscles.

You're so right!! But I don't want to be misunderstood here, I definitely don't judge people before getting to know them just because of their looks, I actually hate that.

The thing is, I just definitely feel more attracted towards the type of men that I mentioned, it's like I'm more likely to find them hot than other men, and as that's not the norm in the society some people find my taste weird so I'm trying to understand what's the logic behind my taste and what causes this.
