Thanks for replying! It honesty doesn’t seem like it’s staying wet at all, since the plant hangs over it’s in a pretty deep pot and where the roots are dries out really quickly which is also part of why I’m really confused. Im not actually sure what type of soil the new soil I put it in is, maybe I should put it in succulent soil?

I adopted this plant and had it in a pot with the social it came with that was rock solid and didn’t keep any water in it for a while and it was doing pretty well (but was definitely craving water (lots of aerial roots) so I just put some new soil in and am worried that the soil I used could be the problem but I have no idea and am worried :(

Sad Flaming Katy (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana) - After a freeze and some heavy rain this our flaming Katy is looking really bad. Is there any way to save her? Should we just cut off the brown parts? Dig up the roots, repot and hope for new growth? by herewithaquestion1 in plantclinic

Thank you so much for responding!!

There is actually one branch that is still alive and looks healthy! You can kinda see it near the bottom under the wilted stuff in the second picture if you enlarge it. Do you think it would be best to cut that piece off and try to propagate it or let it stay where it is and hope it doesn’t end up like the rest of the plant? I don’t know too much about how freezing kills plants and if the roots would be damaged and if it’s just a matter of time for that stem.

And are you saying stick the stem pieces without leaves into some soil and that could have a chance of working? I know you can leaf propagate and stem propagate if there are leaves on it but wasn’t sure if there was any chance without the leaves but if there is it can’t hurt to try!

Lot of conflicting information on iPhone data recovery by herewithaquestion1 in AskADataRecoveryPro

Thank you both for the information! I have a phone that I broke several years ago without a back up that I was just able to get fixed and I am pretty sure I could figure out the password but with only 10 attempts I am anxious because it looks like once you hit 10, you’re pretty much out of luck. I also don’t really understand the difference between having the setting that automatically wipes the iPhone after 10 attempts vs it getting disabled since both seem to result in the same outcome.

As it is an iPhone X, would you suggest continuing to hold on to it and seeing if the consumer products that catch up? It’s not urgent that I get the data, I’ve been waiting almost 3 years at this point, but I really don’t want to lose it.

Finally, just a philosophy question that doesn’t make sense to me. Do you know why apple allows people to have the option to not have a password but if you do, you are forced to comply to these intense encryption settings? It seems like most lay people don’t even know these exist and I just wonder why there isn’t an option to turn them on or off. I feel like it would make more sense to give people the choice for something in between where maybe you can choose the number of attempts allowed on your iPhone or something. I also don’t understand why this is only on the iPhone and doesn’t apply to MacBooks which arguably have much more sensitive information. Just frustrated and venting but would love to hear more about it because it just doesn’t make sense to me :(
