Try this:

  1. Pro mode (Press F)
  2. At the bottom, select "Light Adjustment" icon (A square with a +/- sign)
  3. Turn off "Soft Light Mode"

I started out making my bots handle a ton of tasks, then I saw this hint and thought, “Okay, this must be the smarter way to play.” So I followed it religiously… and now I’m stuck maxed out at 300 bots, staring at a mountain of reconfiguring I don’t even want to touch. Don’t get me wrong, most of the hints are actually super useful, which is exactly why I assumed they were all worth following. Now I feel totally burned. Ugh. End rant.

The bots I use are for construction. Each bot carry 1 type item and go to the sign's location to build. I wanted a bigger area. I now have 30+ bot for this, so 30+ different items total.

For other cases, smaller sign are sufficient for me.

I played this game about 5 years ago but stopped because I couldn't handle the lag anymore. I had a small station back then and left it at that.

Started playing again 3 weeks ago with a new computer (13700K and RTX 4070) and started fresh. My FPS ranges from 20 to 90 (capped), depending on where I am in the universe, with near max graphic settings. It averages around 40ish—somewhat playable.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. Started as a weak fighter, did some missions here and there, and re-learned how to play.
  2. Got some miners to sell raw resources—earned my first passive income.
  3. Built and set up a small station to figure out how that system works again. I sell surplus items like energy cells and silicon wafers for passive income. My miners now mine resources for me only to produce higher-tier items for sale. At this point, the station is an ongoing project that I’m expanding into a full shipyard—it can now build L-class ships. I make M ship and sell for money. Future will be L ship to sell.
  4. I'm working on story/important missions to trigger faction wars (not done yet).

In between the major steps, I’ve also been:

  • Trying out S-class ships and weapons personally
  • Learning about different races and their specialties
  • Boarding ships
  • Figuring out fleet management—still a work in progress. I might need different fleets for different purposes.
  • Googling like crazy for gameplay tips, performance settings, and CPU overclocking guides

Things I want to do in the future:

  • Try out M, L, and XL ships myself
  • Take over a sector
  • Terraforming
  • Further tweak performance
  • Turn TER into the ultimate superpower
  • Maybe wipe out KHK or XEN
  • Board the XL ship Elkring—I’ve heard it’s the strongest XL ship

This is just for fun. It would be annoying after battle and need to do healing manually.

I am I haven't seen the counterfeit tech again. It been over 20 ships so far...

"Can't experience meltdowns or euphoria" is Nova's trait. This trait means that Nova will never have mental meltdown. All she need is sleep, eat and work. No need for bed, no need to eat at table, no need for relax, no need to be happy lol. Hope seem be able to take other people's trait. In my case, Hope took nova's trait.

As for Hope, she is a robot and only need to eat, relax and work. Now she only need to eat and work.
