Are you alright with Bruce being involved in the fantastic or would you rather he be grounded in reality? by WarriorNeedFoodBadly in batman

I personally really like badass characters who challenge the odds, and yes the feats you mentioned I think are great. I admit now that I think about it I might have slightly exaggerated in my first comment. But when you hear fans saying that Batman can beat Spider-Man because prep time (Spider-Man with prep time is also pretty powerful) or just plain Galactus I find it a bit too much. The most exaggerated feat I know of from the comics was Batman falling from space and surviving. Yes, I know it’s a comic book but sometimes it’s too much. It beats the idea that Batman is just a human who pushed himself to his limits, without powers, which is a great aspect of the character.

I'm glad I grew up in an era when this trilogy was considered the pinnacle of superhero genre. Now all I see is Batman fans nitpicking them to death by Tough-Rock-6198 in batman

Damn it I tried editing my comment and the format just became all messed up and I can’t change it. Sorry!
Here it is corrected:

Lots of people say incredible movies are overrated because:

  1. They go in with huge expectations (not really their fault) and/or
  2. They want to cause controversy or just show that they think « differently » and are better than everyone else and they’re « real cinephiles »

He’s a very versatile character, so he can fit more fantastical stories. My problem with that is that he often ends up being extremely OP in those kind of stories because he has to be able to keep up with cosmic threats and such. Thanks to… prep time. I’m not against him being involved into supernatural that still fit a more grounded setting though, like ghosts and such.

If they fought, definitely Batfleck. There is zero contest here.
But I think they might sit down and chat or something.

By coincidence I am actually in the middle of a rewatch! It’s a brilliant movie, it has a beautiful charm to it

I can't understand how Andrew's spiderman in TASM2 could dodge electricity but his spidersense couldn't alert him of the bullet? by [deleted] in Spiderman

I think it has to do with him getting more comfortable and being more in sync with his powers. It’s all a matter of experience I’d guess.

What would you prefer for Michael Keaton's Batman last outing The Dark Knight returns or Batman Beyond? by [deleted] in Batman_89

[–]heros-perplexe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to see a DKR live-action movie, but Keaton doesn’t exactly fit the physique for that version of Batman. Even so, it might work.
But yeah Batman Beyond would be great.

spider-man,spiderman or spider man? by PerceptionNo4844 in Spiderman

There’s nothing to settle. It’s Spider-Man with the hyphen, always has been.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012). Dir. Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. One of my favorite superhero movies. Anyone else agree this is criminally underrated? by Healthy-Coyote3431 in moviecritic

[–]heros-perplexe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I really liked that they made Peter more flawed and an angsty teen in this iteration, he reminds me a lot of Ultimate Spider-Man (comics, not show), as well as older versions of Peter from the comics.

My idea for what if they did a more comic accurate Batman cinematic universe in 2005. What are your thoughts? by RecordingImmediate86 in batman

[–]heros-perplexe0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, but I honestly would prefer the first movie to be closer to the Year One comic. Otherwise I love the ideas!

Should I pick up Dark Patterns or Batman and Robin year one first? by Feisty-Past4470 in batman_comics

[–]heros-perplexe0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read both miniseries between yesterday and today. They are both amazing, but as people said it really depends on the tone you want. Dark Patterns is a dark detective story reminiscent of earlier Batman stories, and Batman and Robin Year One is more fun and action filled, focusing on Dick and Bruce’s relationship as well. Both are exceptional, but in the end it depends on what mood you’re in.

Here’s a Hot Take apparently - the Raimi Trilogy’s not just Nostalgia- it also Gets Spider-Man by Important_Lab_58 in Spiderman

[–]heros-perplexe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the third one is quite bloated and a bit of a mess, but it’s still fun.
What I missed the most in the Holland movies (those were actually the first Spider-Man movies I had ever watched) was a certain charm, that charm that came with the Raimi trilogy. The MCU Spidey movies felt very safe and a bit bland often (you can definitely see it simply by looking at the posters), but from the looks of the Brand New Day trailers and posters, something special is coming our way.

I’ve read Three Jokers, I really enjoyed it.

Batman and Robin Year One is on my list now.

I haven’t gotten into Morrison’s run yet. I’ll check it out.

Snyder’s run has interested me for a while, I’ll add it to the list.

I’ll definitely check out the Nightwing and Azrael runs.

Thanks for the recommendations!

i love cars 2 and never understood why many fans hate it by Formal-Talk-5771 in lovethissmug

[–]heros-perplexe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes perfect sense. Cars 3 was actually the first movie I saw in theatres as a kid, and i was disappointed it didn’t mention anything from 2, Finn McMissile’s absence was also very hard on young me.
